    LAKELAND, Fla. - Throughout the month of July, Florida Southern College Athletics will release its list of team MVPs for the 2018-19 season. Each MVP was selected by the team's head coach, and the list includes some of the top student-athletes in the country. MVPs will be revealed each weekday during the month at 10 a.m., and a list of their scheduled release dates can be found below.

    LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College men’s and women’s cross country head coaches Matt Levassiur (men) and Stephanie Bylander (women) released their team’s schedules ahead of the 2019 season on Wednesday. Both squads will race at the same five meets, three in September and two in October, and will host the NCAA South Region Championships in November.

    CLEVELAND, Ohio - Florida Southern College finished 18th in the final 2018-19 NCAA Division II Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings, it was announced this week. The Moccasins made a combined 11 NCAA postseason appearances this past year, including top-10 finishes in men's golf (third), women's basketball (ninth) and women's lacrosse (ninth).

    MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern College placed 71 student-athletes on the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll, the conference office announced on Wednesday. In addition to its 71 Honor Roll selections, Florida Southern had 27 student-athletes earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average last semester.

    NEW ORLEANS, LA - Seven student-athletes from the Florida Southern cross country teams earned All-Academic awards as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2018 NCAA DII Cross Country Individual Academic Awards on Thursday. Joshua Wagner from the men's team and Addison Cantor, Hannah Flemming, Aleksa Guerra, Hannah Nelson, Jolene Vergauwen and Sarah Zamot from the women's team join the 649 student-athletes who earned USTFCCCA individual honors.

The fourth-place finish was the highest for the Moccasins since the 2007 team also placed fourth.

    MELBOURNE, FL - Sophomores Hannah Flemming and Addison Cantor have been named to the All-Sunshine State Conference first-team as announced today by the league office. Runners that placed 1-7 in the SSC Championship were selected to the first-team while runners finishing in 8th to 14th place were named to the All-SSC second-team.

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Paced by the sophomore duo of Hannah Flemming and Addison Cantor, the Florida Southern women's cross country team placed fourth at the Sunshine State Conference Championships held here Saturday on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The University of Tampa claimed top team honors with 53 points, edging out Embry-Riddle, which had the top two individuals, by three points. Saint Leo came in third with 71 points, narrowly beating FSC's team score of 78 points.

    HARDEEVILLE, SC - Sophomore Hannah Flemming ran an 18:19.3 to finish in eighth place over a 5K race and lead Florida Southern to a third-place finish at the USC Beaufort Sand Shark Invitational Cross Country meet here Saturday morning at the Sgt. Jasper Park. The Moccasins finished with 106 points, trailing the Savannah College of Art & Design, which won with 66 points, and fellow Sunshine State Conference member, Embry-Riddle, which took second with 73 points.

    LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL - Sophomore Addison Cantor turned in a time of 18:20.24 to take fourth place overall to help lead Florida Southern to a second-place showing at the Disney Cross Country Classic held here Saturday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. Cantor was the top Division II runner with Hannah Thompson, an unattached runner, winning at 17:53.87 and two runners from Division I Florida A&M placing second and third. The second-place finish tied for the best showing for Florida Southern in 15 trips to the Disney event.

    CHARLOTTE, NC - Hannah Flemming turned the fastest Florida Southern 5K since 2008 with a time of 18:20 to place 23rd overall and lead the Florida Southern women's cross country team to a fifth-place showing overall (second amongst Division II institutions) at the Queens City Invitational held Friday at McAlpine Creek Park. Twenty-nine teams were entered in the event.

    LAKELAND, FL – The 2018 season began with a win for the Florida Southern women's cross-country team as the Moccasins took seven of the top 13 positions overall, and had 10 of the top 15 Division II runners at the Holloway Park Preseason Festival. The Mocs overwhelmed the field in their first cross-country meet under new head coach Stephanie Bylander by scoring 34 points to Saint Leo's 80, and though Saint Leo had the individual champion, the Mocs' first seven runners crossed the finish line before the Lions' second.

The Moccasins will be under the direction of first-year head coach Stephanie Bylander who had served as an assistant coach on both the men’s and women’s teams at Florida Southern for the previous three seasons.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University was chosen as the top team in 2018 poll as the Eagles received 56 total votes and five first-place votes.
