NEW ORLEANS - Sophomores Addison Cantor and Hannah Flemming have been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II Cross Country All-Region Team. The duo earned a spot on the team by virtue of their top-25 finishes at the recent NCAA South Region Championship.
Cantor came in 10th for Florida Southern with a time of 22:18.72 while Flemming was right behind in 11th place with a 22:26.78 mark over the 6K course. Cantor's time was the seventh best time for any Moccasin in an NCAA Regional meet and is the fastest time since Carolyne Kwambai turned in a 22:21 to take fourth place at the 2009 regionals. Flemming's effort is now the 10th fastest Florida Southern time in the event. The duo's finishes are the highest for any Moccasin runner at regionals since Kwambai's 2009 showing.
The duo helped lead Florida Southern to a fourth-place showing at the regional, the highest for the Moccasins since the 2007 team also placed fourth.
A total of 200 runners from 94 different men's programs earned the distinction of All-Region by finishing among the top-25 runners at one of the eight regional sites this past weekend.
