INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Florida Southern College athletics continues to promote student-athlete success in the classroom as the department earned a Division II Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90 for the 2012 cohort, the NCAA released on Wednesday. The 90 percent mark is tied for the highest mark that the department has ever earned, with the previous record set during the 2010 six-year cohort.
NEW ORLEANS – Florida Southern College men’s and women’s track programs were named all-Academic Teams for the 2018-19 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday. The men’s program was second in the nation with a team grade-point average of 3.44, while the women were seventh nationally with a 3.59 team GPA.

Each MVP was selected by the team's head coach, and the list includes some of the top student-athletes in the country. GAINESVILLE, FL - Addison Cantor and Alayna Goll continued a historic 2019 season for women's track on Friday night in Gainesville, setting two top-10 times in the 5000m at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational. Cantor set the fifth-fastest time in school history (17:55.02) while Goll set the eighth-fastest time in school history (18:06.39). The three runners at the event for the Mocs (Cantor, Goll and Hannah Flemming) now have sole ownership of the top 10 all-time performances in the 5,000m. Cantor holds six of the fastest performances while Goll and Flemming each hold two spots, with Flemming holding the school record.

NEW ORLEANS, LA - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) ranked Florida Southern College women's track No. 11 in the nation in the 5,000-meter run event on Tuesday. The No. 11 Moccasins, previously ranked 18th, are the highest-ranked member from the Sunshine State Conference and second in the south region behind No. 7 Lee. The Mocs average a 17:53.25 time amongst their top four racers for a total ranked time of 1:11.33.
LEWISBURG, PA - Hannah Flemming broke yet another record in her sophomore campaign on Saturday as Florida Southern women's track competed in the 2019 Bison Outdoor Classic. Flemming crushed the school record for the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:30.58, her sixth school record in her career and the second set in the past week. Freshman Alayna Goll recorded the fourth-fastest time in school history (17:45.14) while in the 10,000-meter run Hannah Nelson (41:41.82) and Ysabella Guerra (38:22.04) set the eighth-fastest and second-fastest times in school history, respectively.
Florida Southern will compete at the South Florida Invitational on Friday, April 19 in Tampa.

The Moccasins set six personal records in four events, led by Cantor's record-setting finish in the 3,000-meter run (10:27.26) and Alayna Goll's third-best time in school history in the 1,500-meter run (4:51.67).

The schedule for the 2019 men's and women's track season has been jointly announced by first-year head coaches Matt Levassiur (men) and Stephanie Bylander (women). JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Florida Southern women's track team continued its Spring season by competing in the 5000-meter event at the UNF Invitational held here Friday at the UNF Track on the University of North Florida campus. Hannah Nelson led the Moccasins with an eighth place finish at 18:15.12 which is the fourth-fastest time in the event in Moccasin history.
