TAMPA, FL - Sophomore Hannah Flemming set her sixth women's track school record with a second-place finish in the 800m as Florida Southern College competed at the South Florida Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Tampa. The Moccasins set five personal records, including Flemming's second-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:17.63). Flemming now holds the school record in the 5000m, mile run, 1500m, and 800m while also holding the record in combination with her teammates in the 4x800m relay and distance medley relay. Alayna Goll had an eighth-place finish in the 800m (2:25.08 - PR, eighth-fastest time in school history) and a second-place finish in the 1500m (4:52.10, seventh-fastest time in school history). Senior Jolene Vergauwen ended her collegiate career on a high note with a fourth-place finish in the 5000m with her first sub-19-minute finish of her career (18:56.28)
Florida Southern will compete at the University of Florida Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville on April 27 to close out the season.
