DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Freshman Hannah Flemming and junior Kassidy Watkins set a pair of school records Saturday as the Florida Southern women's track team competed at the Embry-Riddle First Chance/Last Chance Classic here on the ERAU campus.

Flemming broke the Florida Southern school record in the Mile Run with a time of 5:21.99, finishing third place overall, to eclipse the old mark of 5:27.61 set by Carolyne Kwambai on Feb. 10, 2010, at that year's ERAU First Chance/Last Chance Meet. Sophomore Allison Wright ran the fourth-fastest mile time at 5:34.76 to place eighth. Watkins set also set a Moccasin record, placing fourth in the 1000-meter with an FSC best time of 3:09.72, shattering the previous record of 3:15.81 set by Hannah Nelson at the Embry-Riddle Indoor/Outdoor Classic on 1/21/17. Freshman Mackenzie Wills recorded the fourth fastest 1000-meter time in program history with a 3:26.94 to finish in ninth place.

In the 3000-meter race, the Moccasins turned in six of the 10 fastest times in program history, led by freshman Addison Cantor who made her Moccasin debut with the third fastest time of 10:41.46 to take eighth place overall. Junior Hannah Nelson was close behind with the fourth fastest time (10:46.70) for 10th place while junior Aleksa Guerra (10:48.94) and her twin sister, sophomore Ysabella Guerra (10:58.11) recorded the fifth and sixth best times in Moccasin history to take 11th and 17th place, respectively. Freshman Stephanie Hansen turned in the eighth fastest FSC time (10:59.12) for 18th place while freshman Mercedes Mendoza had the 10th best time (11:04.66) to place 22nd.

The Moccasins also had a squad compete in the 4000-meter distance medley relay for just the second time in program history with the team of Fleming, Aleksa Guerra, Watkins, and Nelson taking third place with a 12:59.54 time topping the previous mark of 13:11.58 set by the team of Ali Gardino, Sophia Bernard, Karys Whitehead, and Kwambai at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational on March 19, 2009.

Florida Southern will compete next at the University of Track Classic on March 2.
