Montano Paces Mocs, Price Records New PR in the 5K at the Bulls Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. - Sophomore Ashley Montano led Florida Southern with a Top 20 finish in the 5,000-meter race during Day 1 of the 2015 Bulls Invitational, hosted by the University of South Florida at the USF Track & Field Stadium.

Montano (Colorado Springs, Colo.), who also paced the Moccasins in the 3K at the Embry-Riddle Last Chance Meet and the USF Invitational earlier this season, was the only runner on the team to break the 20-minute mark with a time of 19:59.58. She finished in 19th place.

Junior Ashley Dudman (Geneva, Ill.), senior Marissa Senzamici (Lakeland, Fla.) and sophomore Molly Price (Miami, Fla.) each gave the Mocs top-30 finishes in 26th, 28th and 30th place, respectively. Dudman was clocked at 20:35.76, followed by Senzamici at 20:44.49. Price recorded a new personal record in the 5K at 20:53.80, over 13 seconds faster than her time from last year's Florida State Relays.

Junior Rebecca Levy (Mahopac, N.Y.) rounded out the pack in 33rd place with a time of 21:12.70.

The Mocs will return to action for Day 2 of the Bulls Invitational tomorrow, Friday, March 20.
