LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's soccer has earned some regional recognition after opening the season 2-0 for the first time in over a decade. The Moccasins came in seven in the South Region in this week's United Soccer Coaches South Region poll after a pair of 1-0 wins over Shorter and Georgia College last week.
The last time the Mocs began a season 2-0 was in 2007, when Southern started the year 5-0 en route to a 12-7-1 campaign. It is the first time since the end of the 2017 season that Florida Southern has been ranked in the top eight regionally.
In addition to the news of the Moccasins' regional ranking, Florida Southern has also had its kickoff time for Friday's neutral-site match against Union moved to 5:30 p.m. ET. The match, which will be played at Delta State, was originally slated for a 6 p.m. start. The weekend will end with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff against Delta State on Sunday.
Live video will not be available for Friday's match vs. Union but will be available for a fee on Sunday vs. Delta State. Live stats will be free for both matches.
