Quaempts Earns Google Cloud Academic All-America® Third Team Honors

Caitlin Quaempts becomes fifth women's soccer student-athlete to earn Academic All-America® honors as announced on Wednesday afternoon. She was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® third team. In her junior year, Quaempts started in 14 of her 16 games played and recorded two goals as a prominent member of the Moccasins defense.

In the classroom, she owns a perfect 4.00 GPA while majoring in Biology and Spanish. She's been a recipient of multiple scholarships including the Christoverson scholarship, Pfeiffer scholarship, as well as a soccer scholarship. Quaempts has seen her name on the Presidents scholars list (Fall 2016, 2017, Spring 2017), Deans list (Spring 2018) and the Sunshine State Conference Commissioners Honor Roll (Fall 2016, 2017), and is a member of Florida Southern College's Honors Program.

This season on the pitch she recorded two goals and helped keep the opposition to just a 1.66 goals per game average. Both of Quaempts goals came in a 3-2 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic at home. She put the Mocs on the board early as her goal in the fifth minute was the third of her career. The junior defender answered two Sailfish goals with her second of the game to tie the match at 2-2 in the 63rd minute. With two goals on the season, she matched her previous seasons total and doubled her career total.

Quaempts is one of four SSC women's soccer student-athletes to earn All-America® honors in 2018.
