Crowder Named to ALL-SSC Second Team

MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern women's soccer senior Gaelyn Crowder has been named to the All-SSC Second Team announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Crowder becomes the 26th different player in program history to earn All-SSC honors. Voting for the All-SSC honors and yearly awards was conducted among the league's women's soccer coaches.

As a prominent member of the back line, Crowder helped keep the opposition to just 1.66 goals per game. The award comes after the defender extended her consecutive matches-started streak to 39 and recorded her first career goal in her 40th career start. She started in all but one game on the season. Her 40th career start was a memorable one as she took a corner kick from Anna Griessler and headed it to the net for her first career goal and to extend the Mocs lead against Saint Leo. The Boulder, CO native recorded an assist in a 1-1 draw at home against Delta State.

She finishes her Florida Southern career starting 46 of 49 games played recording one goal and one assist as a defender. She began her streak of consecutive matches-started on Oct. 21, 2015, on the road at Eckerd as a freshman. During those four years, she helped keep the opposition to 1.42 goals per game including 11 shutouts.
