MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse senior Dani Bursinger earns her second-straight Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors. This is her second award this season and fourth all-time. Bursinger won 13 draw controls as the Mocs defeated both Slippery Rock (20-7) and Florida Tech (16-4).
She won six draw controls, picked up two groundballs and recorded a goal and an assist to start the week against Slippery Rock. Against Florida Tech she won seven draw controls, picked up two ground balls and caused two turnovers while recording an assist for the Mocs. The senior from Powell, Ohio ranks third in the SSC in both total draw controls (59) and draw controls per game (7.38).
With 353 career draw controls, she sits alone at the top of the Mocs record book ahead Megan Asper in second with 266.
Bursinger and the No. 3 Moccasins are back in action Thursday when they host Belmont Abbey at 7 p.m. on Moccasin Field.
