MELBOURNE, FL - Sarah Grady and Dani Bursinger were named offensive and defensive players of the week for games played from March 4-10. The duo earns the honors after helping guide Florida Southern College women's lacrosse to a 3-0 trip in North Carolina. The Mocs defeated Catawba (23-2), Wingate (21-7), and No. 22 Queens (14-12).
Grady totaled 12 points (6g, 6a) on the week. Her week started with a goal on two shots at Catawba. Two days later at Wingate, she had one goal and four assists and a caused turnover in a 20-7 victory. She closed out her week with four goals and two assists, three groundballs, and a caused turnover on seven shots in a hard-fought 14-12 victory at No. 20 Queens.
Bursinger won 33 draw controls in the Mocs three victories last week, including a season-high 18 draw controls at Queens on Sunday. She also recorded two goals and picked up two ground balls on the week. Bursinger leads the SSC with 8.00 DCs/game. Florida Southern defeated a ranked opponent in No. 22 Queens with a 14-12 comeback win.
