  • Ten Moccasins Land on the IWLCA 2019 Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll

    GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Ten Florida Southern College women's lacrosse student-athletes were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) 2019 Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll. The IWLCA honored 281 student-athletes from 63 different institutions on the 2019 IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. As a team, Kara Reber's squad posted a 3.47 GPA.

    MELBOURNE, Fla. - Florida Southern College had 165 student-athletes earn a spot on the Spring Sunshine State Conference Comissioner's Honor Roll, the SSC office announced on Wednesday.

    LAKELAND, Fla. - Beginning Monday, July 1, Florida Southern College Athletics will release its list of team MVPs for the 2018-19 season. Each MVP was selected by the team's head coach, and the list includes some of the top student-athletes in the country. MVPs will be revealed each weekday during the month of July at 10 a.m., and a list of their scheduled release dates can be found below.

  • Florida Southern Finishes 18th in Final Learfield Cup Standings

    CLEVELAND, Ohio - Florida Southern College finished 18th in the final 2018-19 NCAA Division II Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings, it was announced this week. The Moccasins made a combined 11 NCAA postseason appearances this past year, including top-10 finishes in men's golf (third), women's basketball (ninth) and women's lacrosse (ninth).

    GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Sam Keesey and Dani Bursinger were named 2019 IWLCA all-Americans as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association on Tuesday evening. The announcement was made live via the LaxSportsNetwork during the Divison II all-American Special. 
  • Three Moccasins to Play in 2019 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

    LAKELAND, FL - Three former Florida Southern College women's lacrosse student-athletes were named to the 2019 IWLCA senior all-star south team. Aubriana Benedetto, Dani Bursinger, and Sam Keesey will represent the Mocs on the Division II south team. This will mark the seventh-straight year the Mocs will have representation on at the all-star game. The two teams are comprised of 22 players each, the North team will be coached by Ginny Martino (West Chester) while Kelly Gallagher (Tampa) will coach the South team. The Division II game will be played on June 1, 2019, at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, MD on Tierney Field at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free of charge. The game will be live streamed at IWLCA-tv.com.
  • Four Moccasins Named to IWLCA All-South Region Teams

    LAKELAND, FL - Four Florida Southern College women's lacrosse student-athletes earn IWLCA All-South Region honors. Dani Bursinger and Sam Keesey were named to the first team. Riley Bannatyne and Aubriana Benedetto earned spots on the second team. This marks the third-straight year Bursinger has been named to the first team and the second-consecutive year Keesey has earned first-team honors. 
  • Mocs' Season Ends in First Round of NCAA Tournament

    TAMPA, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse's streak of consecutive national championship appearances ended at three following a double-overtime loss to Rollins. The Mocs (16-4) rallied back to tie the Tars (15-2) at 11-11 late into the second half. After neither team could convert shots in the first overtime period the game went to a second overtime period where the Tars would fire home the game-winner.
  • Moccasins Earn No. 2 Seed in 2019 South Regional Tournament

    INDIANAPOLIS - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse has earned the No. 2 seed in the South Region of the 2019 NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Tournament, the NCAA announced on Sunday evening. The Moccasins (16-3) enter the tournament following an OT loss to Tampa in the Sunshine State Conference tournament. Florida Southern finished the regular season on a seven-game winning streak after winning their fifth-straight Sunshine State Conference regular-season title. 
  • Werker Named Freshman of the Year as Nine Earn All-SSC Honors

    MELBOURNE, FL - Patricia Werker was named the 2019 Sunshine State Conference women's lacrosse freshman of the year, as announced by the conference office Friday morning. Florida Southern had a total of nine student-athletes named to the All-SSC first and second teams. Riley Bannatyne, Dani Bursinger, and Sam Keesey were named to the first team. Six Moccasins were named to the second team. Nine honorees are the second most since the Mocs had ten in 2015. Werker becomes the 50th student-athlete since 1988 to earn SSC freshman of the year honors. She is now the 25th Moccasin female freshman of the year. 
  • Late Comeback Not Enough as Mocs Drop SSC Title Game in Overtime

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse erased a six-goal halftime deficit to send the 2019 Sunshine State Conference title game to overtime. Grace Glinecki tied the game at 18-18 before the Mocs (16-3) watched Tampa (14-3) put the winning goal in the back of the net just nine seconds into overtime. Marina Jozokos, Becca Hill, Aubriana Benedetto, and Sam Keesey were all named to the all-tournament team.
  • Moccasins Advance to Fifth-Straight SSC Title Game

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse rallied back to earn its fifth-straight trip to the Sunshine State Conference title game. The Mocs (16-2, 5-1 SSC) used a 14-goal first half to defeat Florida Tech (7-9, 2-4 SSC) in the first round of the conference tournament. Three different Mocs finished with four points each in the victory.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College held its annual Athletic Academic Awards Banquet on Monday evening as it recognized its top student-athletes in an event held at Streamline Sale Arena at Jenkins Field House. More than 500 student-athletes, coaches, staff, and invited guests were in attendance.
  • Moccasins Claim Fifth-Straight SSC Regular Season Title

    WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse closed out the 2019 regular season with a 22-2 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic. The Mocs (15-2, 5-1 SSC) opened the game on a 9-0 run to defeat the Sailfish (5-9, 0-6 SSC). 
  • Mocs Sweep Ohio Trip with 19-5 Victory at Findlay

    FINDLAY, OH - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 19-5 victory at Findlay. The Mocs (14-2, 4-1 SSC) opened the game on a 7-0 run to defeat the Oilers (6-8, 4-0 GMAC). 
  • Smith Records Game-Winning Goal in Home State as Reber Wins 200th Career Victory

    TIFFIN, OH - Marina Jozokos put the Mocs up 3-0 in the first three minutes of the game and Brenna Smith added two more goals in the first ten minutes as Florida Southern College women's lacrosse scored all the goals needed to defeat Tiffin. In her return home, Smith recorded the game-winning goal for the Mocs (13-2, 4-1 SSC) at the 20:36 mark of the first half to beat the Dragons (7-6, 3-0 GMAC). The victory also marked head coach Kara Reber's 200th career victory.

    LAKELAND, FL -  For the second time this week, Florida Southern College women's lacrosse senior Sam Keesey has earned player of the week honors. This time from the IWLCA as announced by the organization's office Wednesday afternoon. 
  • Bursinger Eclipses 400 Career Draw Controls as Mocs Hand Lions First Loss of 2019

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse spoiled Saint Leo's bid for a perfect season as the Mocs (12-2, 4-1 SSC) held the Lions (13-1, 2-1 SSC) to a season-low six goals. Senior Dani Bursinger won a total nine draw controls for the visiting Mocs and with her sixth draw control of the game, she hit the 400 mark for her career. She is the first Moccasin to hit this milestone.

    MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern women's lacrosse student-athletes Riley Bannatyne and Sam Keesey both earned Sunshine State Conference player of the week honors as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. Last week, the Mocs went 2-0 defeating then No. 2 ranked Rollins and Embry-Riddle. 
  • Reber Earns 130th FSC Victory as Mocs Win 20th SSC Game on Senior Day

    LAKELAND, FL - On the day Florida Southern College women's lacrosse honored it's last remaining members of the 2016 national championship squad, the Moccasins defeated Embry-Riddle 21-10 at Moccasin Field on Saturday afternoon. The Mocs (11-2, 3-1 SSC) used double-digit goal totals in each half to send the Eagles (9-5, 1-2 SSC) back to Daytona Beach with their fifth loss of the season. 
  • Moccasins Hit Double-Digit Win Total for Eighth-Straight Season

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse took down No. 2 Rollins 16-11 at Moccasin Field on Wednesday night. The Mocs (10-2, 2-1 SSC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead en route to handing the Tars (10-1, 1-1 SSC) their first loss of 2019. 
  • Bannatyne's Five Goals Put Moccasins Back in the Win Column

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse returned to its winning ways with a 22-8 victory over the visiting Trojans of Mount Olive. The Mocs (9-2, 1-1 SSC) quickly found the scoreboard as freshmen Brenna Smith opened the scoring at the 29:23 mark over the Trojans (8-4, 5-1 CC).
  • Moccasins Late Rally Not Enough in Loss at Tampa

    TAMPA, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse suffered its first loss to Tampa in program history. The Mocs (8-2, 1-1 SSC) rallied to erase a seven-goal deficit to tie the Spartans (7-2, 1-0 SSC) at 13-13 in the second half.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse picked up win number seven in a row with a 23-7 victory over Belmont Abbey on Thursday night at Moccasin Field. The Mocs (8-1, 1-0 SSC) opened with a 7-0 run over the Crusaders (5-6, 3-1 CC).
  • Women's Lacrosse Raises More Than $2,000 to #StopSuicide

    LAKELAND, FL - In partnership with Lax4Life, Florida Southern College women's lacrosse raised more than $2,000 last weekend to help fight suicide. The Moccasins teamed up with Florida Tech by wearing special shirts during Saturday's game at Moccasin Field, with each player and coach designating a friend, family member, or loved whose name was written on the back of their shirt.
  • Bursinger Earns Second-Straight SSC Defensive Player of Week Honors

    MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse senior Dani Bursinger earns her second-straight Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors. This is her second award this season and fourth all-time. Bursinger won 13 draw controls as the Mocs defeated both Slippery Rock (20-7) and Florida Tech (16-4).
