As a junior (2014-15)… NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award winner… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Played in all but one tournament for the second year in a row… Eight of those tournaments were part of the regular lineup and two were as an individual… Team counter in 19 of her 23 rounds… Florida Southern’s #2 golfer in four tournaments, all of them in the spring… Had the best tournament finish of her career at the Tusuclum/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate (Feb. 7-8) where she tied for third place with a three-over par 147 (72-75)… Had scores of 77 and 78 on the first day of the West Florida Argonaut Invitational (March 30-31) that helped the Mocs take the lead before they won the tournament by a single stroke… Also had a career-best 72 in the opening round of that tournament… Had two other top-20 finishes during the season… Florida Southern’s #2 golfer in the SSC Tournament (April 12-14) when she tied for 24th place overall with a 233 (78-75-80) and helped the Moccasins secure a spot in the NCAA South Region Tournament… Played in her first NCAA postseason tournament and finished with a 250 at the South Regional (May 3-5)... In addition to her achievements at Florida Southern, placed eighth at the New York State Golf Association Women’s Amateur Championship with a 232 at Tuscarora Golf Club, her third straight top-10 finish… One of only two players to finish in the top-10 of the NYSGA Women’s Amateur each of the last three years (the other is recent Saint Leo graduate Lauren Petty)… Had her first career hole-in-one in the 2014 Dixie Amateur at the TPC at Eagle Trace in Coral Springs, Florida in December of 2014.
As a sophomore (2013-14)… Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar… NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award winner… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Played in 10 of 11 possible tournaments, seven of them with the regular varsity lineup, and knocked three strokes off her scoring average from her freshman year… Team counter in 12 of her 15 rounds with the varsity… Had her best showing in the Saint Leo Invitational (Oct. 21-22) where she tied for 15th place out of 96 golfers with a 153 (79-74)… Posted another top-20 finish at the Lady Bearcat Invitational (Sept. 28-29) when she tied for 19th out of 90 participants with a 155 (81-74)… Her pair of 74’s in those two tournaments were a career-best score, and the first one at the Lady Bearcat was the Moccasins’ best round of the tournament… Finished as the “B” team’s top golfer in the season opening Lady Falcon Invitational in Daytona Beach, and her 23rd-place finish put her ahead of three members of the varsity team (Sept. 21-22)… Played in her first career postseason tournament at the Sunshine State Conference Championships, finishing 28th and carding a 76 in the second round (April 13-15)… Outside of Florida Southern, played in the Women’s Porter Cup and the Western Amateur for the second year in a row… Finished fourth at the 2014 New York State Golf Association Women’s Amateur Championship with a 229 (75-77-77) at Dutchess Golf Club in Poughkeepsie… Dean’s List Student at Florida Southern.
As a freshman (2012-13)… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Played in five tournaments for the Moccasins, with four as a member of the “B” team and one as part of the varsity team (Guy Harvey Invitational at Nova)… Trimmed nearly three strokes off her average from the fall semester to the spring… Shot a career-best 78 in the first round of the Lady Moc Classic (Feb. 25)… Followed that tournament by finishing as the “B” team’s top golfer in her final event of the season, the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, hosted by Rollins (March 4-5)… Played with Florida Southern teammate Emma Marlatt at the 2013 Pure Silk Women’s Collegiate Team Championship in Ohio during the summer, as one of only three Division II teams in the 42-team tournament… Tied for eighth place at the 2013 New York State Golf Association Women’s Amateur Championship with a 3-round total of 238 (77-85-76) at the Country Club of Ithaca, and was the Buffalo District champion… Dean’s List student at Florida Southern.
In high school… 2012 graduate of Nardin Academy in Buffalo, New York where she played soccer, lacrosse and basketball before dropping all three to concentrate on golf as a senior… Served as co-captain in her only season on the golf team and finished as sectional runner-up… Outside of school, played in tournaments with the American Junior Golf Association and the International Junior Golf Tour… Personal… Given name is Katharine but goes by Kit… Daughter of Paul and Mary Ellen Creighton… Has two brothers (Peter and Andrew) and one sister (Maureen)… Her brother Peter was a 4-year member of the Florida Southern men’s golf team from 2009-13, and helped the Moccasins win the 2010 Division II National Championship as a freshman… Born October 15, 1994… Business Administration major.
