AWARDS AND HONORS:
2015 (Sophomore): Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

One of Florida Southern’s three starting pitchers in 2015 after spending her freshman season as the Moccasins’ #3 pitcher for most the year… Has also been a starting outfielder or designated player in the batting order… Comes into her junior year with 13 starts as a pitcher and 13 as an outfielder in addition to time spent as a designated player or pitcher/DP. 

Sophomore season highlights (2015)

• Moved into the lineup as a hitter full-time in April when she started 13 of a possible 14 games and was Florida Southern’s leading hitter during that time… Normally hit in the middle of the lineup in the sixth position… Owned a .375 batting average (12-for-32) over the final month when she started seven games in centerfield and four as the designated player… Had five multi-hit games during that stretch, with four of them coming in conference play
• Had a .282 batting average in conference play and was at .370 for the final month while playing against Florida Tech, Nova Southeastern, Rollins, and Saint Leo… Went 4-for-8 in the series at Rollins
• Had six multi-hit games overall
• Appeared in 21 games as a pitcher and was second on the team with 12 starts in the center circle
• Earned her three wins against Colorado Christian (Feb. 11), Georgia Southwestern (Feb. 14) and Caldwell (March 18), with her win over Colorado Christian coming in relief
• Won her first start of the season against Georgia Southwestern by coming back after giving up a first-inning grand slam and holding the Hurricanes to just one run over her final 4.2 innings as the Mocs won 7-5 (Feb. 14)
• Had her best start of the season against #22 Caldwell on March 18, going 6.0 innings and allowing just one unearned run on two hits with three strikeouts and one walk, giving the Moccasins a 4-1 win
• Allowed only two earned run on four hits over 6.2 innings in her next start against Palm Beach Atlantic but took the loss (March 21)
• Had two different appearances out of the bullpen where she pitched 3.2 shutout innings, one of which resulted in the Mocs’ 7-5 win over Colorado Christian on February 11
• Had a season-high seven strikeouts in 5.0 innings against Lynn (March 14) and averaged 5.67 strikeouts per seven innings

Freshman season highlights (2014)

• Made a team-high 12 relief appearances as a pitcher, and also started one game in the circle against Georgia Southwestern (March 19)
• In that game against Georgia Southwestern, became the first freshman since Megan Brown in 2004 to strike out 10 or more batters in her first collegiate start, fanning a season-high 10 batters in six innings… Took the loss in that game despite not allowing any earned runs on four hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks
• Prior to making her first start, had already picked up her first collegiate win four days earlier by pitching four innings of relief against Ohio Dominican and allowing two runs (only one earned) with no walks and four strikeouts, which enabled the Moccasins to come back for a 14-8 victory (March 15)
• Each of her other two wins came in relief as well… Pitched 3.2 scoreless innings for a 4-2, 14-inning win at Florida Tech (March 30)… Retired the final two batters in a 5-4, 15-inning win over Eckerd (April 25), entering the game with two on and one out in the top of the 15th in relief of Brandi Jones
• Established her career-high of 10 strikeouts in her start against Georgia Southwestern (March 19) and averaged 8.5 strikeouts per seven innings for the season
• Made three starts as the designated player and one appearance in the outfield… Went 1-for-3 with a double against 9^th-ranked Barry in her first game as a hitter (March 2)
• Blasted a game-tying 2-run homer in the bottom of the 8th inning against Eckerd after entering as a pinch-hitter earlier in the game and remaining in to serve as the designated player (April 25)
• Started both games of the doubleheader as the DP against Eckerd in the season finale, going 1-for-4 with a walk and a sacrifice… Walked and scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning in the second game, helping give the Mocs a 2-1 victory

In high school… Comes to Florida Southern from Braden River High School… 4-year letter winner for Doug Powell and Erin Spivey… Helped the Pirates win their second straight district title as a senior when she hit .310 with four doubles, a triple, a home run and 19 RBI, while going 5-2 as a pitcher with 75 strikeouts in 47.0 innings… As a junior, was Class 7A Second Team All-State and an all-area selection, led the Pirates in batting (.477), on-base percentage (.500), slugging (.705) and RBI (26), and added nine doubles, four triples and one home run… Also went 7-2 with two saves as a pitcher, striking out 104 batters in 58.1 innings… Helped the Pirates win the region title and reach the 4A state semifinals as a sophomore… On the same pitching staff as North Carolina State signee Courtney Mirabella… Played travel ball for the Tropic Wave from 2009-13, where she was coached by Mike Morgan… Personal… Daughter of Russell and Kim Loyer… Has one younger brother (Haden-16)… Born 2/15/95… Health Science major.
