LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's and women's cross country head coaches Matt Levassiur (men) and Stephanie Bylander (women) have released their team's schedules for the upcoming 2018 campaign. Both the men's and women's squads will race at the same six events, four in September and two in October, while the Moccasins will once again host the NCAA South Region Championships.
The season begins with the annual Holloway Park Preseason Festival (Sept. 1) in Lakeland, and will be followed by trips to the Embry-Riddle Classic (Sept. 15), UF Mountain Dew Invitational (Sept. 22) and the Queen City Invitational (Sept. 28) in Charlotte, NC. Florida Southern will race at the Disney Cross Country Classic (Oct. 6) in Lake Buena Vista and wraps up the regular season at the USC Beaufort Sand Shark Invitational (Oct. 20).
The Sunshine State Conference Championships (Nov. 3) will lead into the South Region Championships (Nov. 17), which will be hosted by the Mocs for the second-straight year. The NCAA Division II National Championships (Dec. 1) will be held at this year's Division II Fall Festival in Pittsburgh, PA.
Florida Southern's men's squad won last year's SSC championship an finished in the top five in all five of its races, while the women were among the top five in three different events. A complete schedule for both cross country teams can be found at FSCMocs.com.
