INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Florida Southern College athletics continues to promote student-athlete success in the classroom as the department earned a Division II Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90 for the 2012 cohort, the NCAA released on Wednesday. The 90 percent mark is tied for the highest mark that the department has ever earned, with the previous record set during the 2010 six-year cohort.
NEW ORLEANS – Florida Southern College men’s and women’s track programs were named all-Academic Teams for the 2018-19 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday. The men’s program was second in the nation with a team grade-point average of 3.44, while the women were seventh nationally with a 3.59 team GPA.

GREENWOOD, IN - Florida Southern College men's track student-athletes Josh Wagner was named by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® team on Tuesday. Wagner is one of the 12 student-athletes selected to represent District 5, which is comprised of institutions from the Sunshine State Conference, Gulf South Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
GAINESVILLE, FL - Sophomore Josh Wagner finished second among Division II runners at the UF Tom Jones Memorial Invitational on Saturday in Gainesville. Wagner finished the 1,500-meter run with a sub-four-minute time of 3:59.16.

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Three Moccasins participated for Florida Southern men's track on Friday and as they competed in the 2019 UNF Invitational. Thomas Gardner set a personal record, finishing seventh in the 3000-meter steeplechase (11:10.91) while in the 5000-meter run Michael Balseca finished 14th (16:11.05) and Mikey Papa finished 28th (18:36.86).
GAINESVILLE, FL - Just one week after beating his own school record, Mitchell Kozik again set a new top time as Florida Southern College men's track competed at the 2019 UF Florida Pepsi Relays on Thursday and Friday in Gainesville. The Moccasins competed against Division II and Division I schools at the meet, with Kozik setting yet another school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:37.98. Sophomore Mason Jones finished 36th in the 5,000-meter run while Josh Wagner finished 53rd in the 1500-meter run.

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Mitchell Kozik set a school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase for Florida Southern men's track on Friday as they competed in the 2019 UNF Spring Break Invitational. Kozik's first-place time of 9:40.00 bests his previous personal record and then school-record time of 9:43.71 set at UNF last year.
ORLANDO, FL - Five runners had top-10 finishes as Florida Southern men's track on Friday and Saturday as they competed in the UCF Black and Gold Challenge. The Moccasins set 11 personal records in seven events, including three personal records in the 200-meter run. Rob Marusko set the sixth-fastest time in school history in the 100-meter run (11.71) and the fourth-fastest time in the 200-meter run (23.64) while Josh Wagner finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run (3:55.85).
TAMPA, FL - Florida Southern College men's track set 26 personal records on Friday as the Moccasins competed at the University of Tampa Track Classic. Sophomore Dylan Oliver set three personal records in the 100-meter (12.69), 200-meter (25.23) and 400-meter (57.44) while Robert Marusko entered the top 10 in Moccasin track history with a time of 11.70 in the 100-meter.
DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Josh Wagner finished first in the 1,500-meter-run (4:01.59) and Mitchell Kozik finished first in the 3,000-meter-run (10:01.95) as Florida Southern College men's track competed at the Embry-Riddle First Chance Invite on Saturday. The Moccasins set 21 personal records last weekend, including six in the 800-meter-run event and four in the 1,500-meter-run. Warran Grajalez set a personal record and joined Kozik on the podium in the 3,000-meter-steeple (10:30.55) with a third-place finish while Dean McGregor finished in the top five with Wagner in the 1,500-meter-run (4:08.94) in fourth place.

NEW ORLEANS - Freshman Mason Jones and senior Bobby Ormsby have been named to the All-South Region Team for the 2018 outdoor track and field season as selected by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Both runners earn the distinction in two different events.

LEWISBURG, PA - Mason Jones posted the fastest time this season for any NCAA Division II freshman in a 10,000-meter run as members of the Florida Southern men's track competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic here at the Christy-Mathewson Memorial Stadium on the campus of Bucknell University. Jones posted a 30:59.26 to finish in 33rd place. Earlier this season, Jones recorded the ninth fastest freshman time in the 5,000-meter at the Pepsi Florida Relays with a time of 14:54.87 on March 29.
