Men's Tennis Concludes Action at ITA South Regional

PENSACOLA, Fla. - Florida Southern College men's tennis concluded its ITA South Regional tournament action on Saturday afternoon at West Florida. The Moccasins fell in competition with individuals and pairings from Embry-Riddle, West Florida and Palm Beach Atlantic. The squad will now turn its attention to the Rollins Varner Invite in Winter Park, Fla.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Oscar Sohl fell to Fernando Alonso of Embry-Riddle in the opening round of the singles consolation bracket in a tightly-contested three-set match (6-3, 4-6, 10-7).
  • In doubles consolation action, Pablo Salamanca and Brian Pham dropped a 6-4 contest to Bandeira and Nery of host West Florida while Chase Martin and Miroslav Cvjetan fell 6-3 to Hoffman and Rosi of Palm Beach Atlantic.

COACH'S TAKE

"I think overall we got accomplished what we needed to and we realized what we need to work on before the spring season," head coach Greg Van Emburgh said. "I know the potential is there we just have to be more committed to finding ways to close out matches."
