MELBOURNE, FL - The Sunshine State Conference announced on Monday that Florida Southern College men's tennis athlete Miroslav Cvjetan had won the Conference Player of the Week. The honor is the first in Cvjetan's career and the first for any Moccasin men's tennis player since March 21, 2016 when Arthur Viallaneiz received the honor.
Cvjetan went undefeated in singles play for Florida Southern College men's tennis in its 5-2 upset over No. 12 Palm Beach Atlantic and 2-5 loss to No. 6 Saint Leo. Cvjetan won in three sets over Noel Kunz from the Lions by a score of 6-4, 6-7, 6-4. He won again in three sets by a score of 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 over Thomas Salmon from the Sailfish. The wins put Cvjetan at 4-2 for singles play this season and an undefeated 3-0 in the No. 4 singles flight.
The Mocs will be back in action this Saturday as they take on Grand Valley State at home, match start set for 11:00 a.m.
