Southern Cracks National Poll With #43 Ranking

The Florida Southern's men's tennis team broke into the ITA regional ranking last week and today found itself in the national poll as the Oracle/ITA Division II Men's Collegiate Tennis Ranking has the Moccasins at 43rd in the nation.

The Moccasins have won three of their last four and six of their last eight to stand at 10-5 on the season heading into this afternoon's home match against Augustana (S.D.).

Fabian Lundberg has been solid this season at number one singles, turning in an 11-4 effort that includes wins in seven of his last eight matches. Jose de Sario has a nice 9-3 record at number two and had a six-match win streak snapped on March 18, falling to #22 Kenny Brasil of #4 West Florida.

Miguel Alvarez-Hevia is 4-1 at number three while Brian Slivonik, which won 10 matches in a row at one point this season, is also 4-1 at number four and 6-2 at number five. Oscar Soderlund has a 2-0 mark at number five and a 4-4 record at number six, while Arthur Viallaneix, who carried a seven-match win streak into today's match, is 3-0 at number five and 3-2 at number six. 

Alvarez-Hevia and Laurent Mailloux have a 5-4 record at number one doubles, while the duo of de Sario and Slivonik are 5-1 at number one and 6-3 at number two. Coach Trey Heath has used four different doubles combinations at number three.
