October 16, 2019INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Florida Southern College athletics continues to promote student-athlete success in the classroom as the department earned a Division II Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90 for the 2012 cohort, the NCAA released on Wednesday. The 90 percent mark is tied for the highest mark that the department has ever earned, with the previous record set during the 2010 six-year cohort. -

October 11, 2019DAVIE, FLA. – The Florida Southern men’s swimming team opened the 2019-20 campaign tonight at the Shark Invitational, and are in second place after Day One. The two-day event is being hosted by Nova Southeastern University, and features six different men’s teams. The host Sharks are currently in first place with 506 team points. Florida Southern rests in second place with 350 points, followed by Savannah College of Art and Design (311 points), Keiser (259), Florida Tech (193), and Lynn (85). -

Holmes Successfully Defends National Title in 400-IM at NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships
March 14, 2019INDIANAPOLIS – For the second year in a row, Matthew Holmes will be bringing home an individual national championship for the Florida Southern men’s swimming program. The senior from Rockledge, Florida successfully defended his title in the 400-individual medley by finishing more than two seconds ahead of his closest pursuer to claim his second medal of the meet. -

March 13, 2019INDIANAPOLIS – The Florida Southern men’s swimming team had its first medalist at the 2019 NCAA Division II National Swimming & Diving Championships when senior Matthew Holmes finished second in the 200-individual medley. It marks the second year in a row Holmes has medaled in the 200-IM following a bronze in 2018, and along with fellow IM swimmer sophomore Matias Lopez, he helped put the Moccasins in 12th place in the team standings at the end of day one. -
National Swimming & Diving Championships Begin Wednesday with 16 Moccasins Set to Compete
March 12, 2019INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division II National Swimming and Diving Championships begin on Wednesday at the IUPUI Natatorium where Florida Southern will be represented by 16 of its best swimmers under first-year head coach Andy Robins. Ten men and six women are on the roster for the trip to Indianapolis, which is hosting the championships for the third time in the last five years, as the Moccasins look to add to their list of impressive accomplishments over the last 10 years. During that time the Mocs have brought home 15 gold medals between the men and women, with at least one individual or relay national champion in seven of the last nine years. -
Six Moccasins Make All-SSC Men’s Swimming Team
March 08, 2019MELBOURNE, FL – Six members of the Florida Southern men’s swimming team have been named All-Sunshine State Conference in a vote of league coaches. Among them are a league-high four swimmers on the All-SSC First Team: seniors Matthew Holmes and Luka Planinc, and sophomores Matias Lopez and Brandon Dyck. Earning Second Team All-SSC honors is freshman Cole Smith, and senior Nico Campbell was an honorable mention selection.
