FSC Men's Swimming Beats Rival Rollins, 158-101

LAKELAND, FLA. – The Florida Southern College men's swimming team easily handled visiting Rollins College on Friday afternoon, 158-101, in a meet held at Florida Southern.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Mocs swept the podium in four events: the 200-free, the 100-back, the 100-free, and the 100-fly.
  • Freshman Luka Prostran was a double-winner, claiming the gold in the 1000-free in 9:44.90, and the 500-free in 4:44.03.
  • Junior Carlos Bernotti won the 200-free in 1:43.40, then returned to win the 100-free in 47.12.
  • Junior Matias Lopez was the fastest in the 100-back in just 52.46 seconds, then returned to win the 200-back in 1:54.13.
  • Junior Miguel Bernotti won the 200-fly with a time of 1:53.02, and placed second in the 100-fly in 51.40.
  • Senior Talor Hamilton sprinted to a 21.22 in the 50-free, the top time of the day. He later won the 100-fly in just 51.33.
  • Sophomore JJ Saslo was second fastest in the 50-free, racing to a 21.79 time, and was third in the 100-fly in 52.03.

UP NEXT

The regularly scheduled meet with Saint Leo for tomorrow, Oct. 19, has been postponed due to the alleged storm blowing through. Now the next competition for the Mocs will be Fri., Oct. 25, when the University of Tampa comes to Lakeland.
