One of four seniors on this year’s team and one of only two who have competed all four years (Diego Gimenez is the other)… Has hit NCAA provisional qualifying times in both the 100- and 200-backstroke all three years of his career.
As a junior (2015-16)… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Took part in eight meets, typically in the backstroke and butterfly… Also competed in the individual medley, the 200-freestyle relay, and both medley relay events throughout the season… Had an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 100-backstroke on a 400-medley relay leg at the SSC Championships… Had another NCAA provisional time in the 200-backstroke during the SSC Championships… Swam the backstroke leg for provisional qualifying 200- and 400-medley relay teams… Held the #2 position on the Florida Southern times list in the 200-backstroke.
As a sophomore (2014-2015)… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Took part in eight meets during the season as one of Florida Southern’s main backstroke swimmers and was also a regular in the 100-butterfly… Achieved an NCAA “B” qualifying time in the 200-backstroke with his fifth-place finish at the SSC Championships, and also had a “B” time in the 100-backstroke during the conference championship meet… Placed fourth out of 19 swimmers in the 200-backstroke at the Nova Southeastern Sharks Invitational… Third on Florida Southern’s season times list in the 200-backstroke.
As a freshman (2013-14)… Took part in 10 meets during the season… Hit NCAA “B” qualifying times in both the 100- and 200-backstroke at the Sunshine State Conference Championships with a top-five finish in the 200… Also had a top-five finish in the 200-backstroke at the Nova Southeastern Sharks Invitational in December… Third on the Mocs’ times list in the 200-backstroke behind only All-Americans Thomas Nguyen and Luis Rojas.
In high school… 2013 graduate of Yarmouth High School where he was a 3-time state champion in the 100-back, 200-back, and 100-fly… Also finished as the state runner-up once in those same three events… Was the high point scorer at both the 2010 and 2011 Maine State Championships… Coached by Leanne Gravel at Yarmouth High School… Competed for Coastal Maine Aquatics at the club level where he was also coached by Gravel… Personal… Son of David Coleman and Emily McLeod… Has one older sister (Chaya)… Born July 20, 1995… Major: Human Movement and Performance.
