One of Florida Southern’s seven returning All-Americans after winning five awards (one individual and four relay) as a sophomore in his first season of competition… Part of Florida Southern’s school record 200-freestyle relay team.

As a sophomore (2014-15)… All-American in the 200-backstroke (6th place), 200-freestyle relay (6th place), 400-freestyle relay (6th place), 200-medley relay (6th place), and 400-medley relay (5th place)… First Team All-Sunshine State Conference… In addition to his All-American events, also competed in the 100-backstroke and 50-freestyle at the National Finals… Helped the Moccasin set a new school record in the 200-freestyle relay at the National Finals with a time of 1:19.82… Took part in eight of a possible nine meets… Third in individual scoring at the SSC Championships with 66 points, making him the Moccasins’ top performer in the meet… Led Florida Southern with 11 individual wins and was second with six relay wins… All 11 of his individual wins came in the backstroke, with seven in the 100 and four in the 200… SSC Champion in both the 100 and 200-backstroke… Went undefeated in the 100-backstroke during the regular season before winning the conference title and advancing to the National Finals as the #2 seed in that event… Defeated only twice in the 200-backstroke during the regular season, once in a Division I meet at Florida State, and once by All-American teammate Luis Rojas at the Nova Southeastern Sharks Invitational (still had the top time at Nova in the prelims)… Began his college career by winning both backstroke races in a dual meet at Tampa (Oct. 17)… Swam the backstroke leg for five of Florida Southern’s six winning medley relay teams… One of only two Moccasins who had NCAA automatic qualifying times during the season, with Juan Tolosa the other, and had both of his “A” times in the two backstroke events… Had NCAA provisional times in the 100-butterfly and 50-freestyle… Ranked #1 on the Florida Southern times list in the 100-backstroke and 200-backstroke, and #3 in the 100-butterfly… Was #7 on the national times list in the 100, and #6 in the 200.
