Mocs Receive Votes in Latest USILA/Nike Division II Coaches' Poll

PERRY, N.Y. - Florida Southern was rewarded for its 11-10 double overtime win this past Saturday at then 20th-ranked Lynn as the Moccasins earned votes in this week's ninth regular season United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Nike Division II Coaches' Poll.

The Mocs, who are sporting a 9-7 overall record and are 2-2 mark in the Sunshine State Conference, are one of seven schools receiving votes in this week's poll. FSC has earned votes in seven of the nine polls this season.

Florida Southern is also one of five SSC schools that are either ranked or receiving votes in this week's rankings. Tampa (11-2) is ranked sixth, while Saint Leo (8-4), who plays the Mocs in Lakeland on Saturday, is ranked 20th. In addition to Tampa and Saint Leo, Rollins, FSC and Lynn each received votes this week.

Two-time defending Division II National Champion Limestone (15-0) remains atop the poll at No. 1 as the Saints earned 360 points and 18 first place votes. LeMoyne (13-0) is at No. 2, while Merrimack (9-1) is third. Mercyhurst (10-2) is fourth and Adelphi (11-2) rounds out the Top 5 this week.

UT is followed in the poll at No. 7 by Mount Olive (11-2), while LIU Post (8-3) is eighth. Lake Erie (8-4) is at No. 9 and NYIT (9-3) rounds out this week's Top 10.

Seton Hill (8-3) headlines the next 10 of the poll at No. 11, while Dowling (8-3) is 12th and Mercy (9-3) is 13th. Molloy (9-4) is ranked 14th and is followed at No. 15 by Belmont Abbey (11-3) and Lenoir-Rhyne (9-4) is 16th. Lindenwood (8-4) is at No. 17, while Indianapolis (7-4) is 18th, Queens (N.C.) (9-5) is 19th and SLU rounds out this week's Top 20.

The Mocs return to action on Saturday, April 23 as they host 20th-ranked Saint Leo in a 12 p.m. game on Senior Day at Bryant Stadium. Prior to the game, the Mocs will honor its five seniors in a pregame ceremony. The Mocs five seniors this year are midfielder Del Donnelly (Cochrane, Alberta), midfielder Kyle McLaughlin (Woolrich Township, N.J.), midfielder Tyler Novak (Holbrook, N.Y), midfielder Jonny Riley (Murrysville, Pa.) and goalie Daniel Rivas (Baldwin, N.Y.).
