Begins his senior year having played in three consecutive NCAA Division II National Championship Tournaments, helping the Moccasins win the 2017 national title and reach the semifinals of medal play in 2016 and 2018... Has played in all but two tournaments in his first three seasons.
AS A JUNIOR (2017-18)… Division II Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… One of three Moccasins to play in all 12 tournaments, and the only one returning in 2018-19… Had a 73.58 stroke average, dropping more than one stroke off his average as a sophomore… Finished the year with a top-100 ranking in the Golfstat individual rankings for the second year in a row… Had a career-best 10 rounds of even-par or better (four under and six even), four of which came in the postseason, including a 70 in the final round of the conference tournament (April 24)… Had four top-20 finishes for the second year in a row, tying for 14th in both the Panther Invitational (March 4-6) and the Sunshine State Conference Championships… Had a season-best final score of one-under par 212 (71-71-70) at the conference championships, which also equaled the best score of his career, and moved into a higher position in the final standings for the second year in a row… Shot even-par 216 (73-71-72) at the Matlock Collegiate Classic to tie for 28th out of 75 golfers while playing in the Matlock for the first time in his career… Tied for 48th out of 108 golfers at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional with a nine-over par 222 (75-73-74), and tied for 50th out of 108 at the National Finals in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with a six-over par 222 (75-75-72)… Followed that with rounds of 74 and 76 in medal play, winning his match against Garett Tucker of Lincoln Memorial… Has three individual wins in medal play over the last two seasons.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2016-17)… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Member of Florida Southern’s national championship team at the 2017 National Finals in Kissimmee… Played in all but one of the Moccasins’ 12 tournaments (missed the Matlock Collegiate Classic in February due to illness)… Earned a final ranking of #68 in the Golfstat individual rankings… Third on the team with a 74.84 stroke average in 36 rounds (+3.06 relative to par)… Saw that average fall to 73.58 during the postseason (+2.58 relative to par), dropping a relative average of nearly one stroke per round from his regular season total… Broke par in four rounds and was even-par in one other, giving him six-under par and six even-par rounds in his career going into his junior year… Tied his career-best single round score with a five-under par 67 in the first round of the Saint Leo Invitational (Sept. 19) and went on to finish at one-under for the tournament, the best such tournament score of his career… Best tournament finish came at the Panther Invitational where he tied for fifth out of 87 golfers with a six-over par 222 (March 6-7)… Twice finished a tournament as the Moccasins’ #2 golfer behind John VanDerLaan (Panther Invitational, March 6-7, and Bobcat Invitational, March 20-21)… Though the Panther Invitational was his only top-10 finish, had three other top-20s, including stroke play at the NCAA Division II National Championships at Reunion Resort in Kissimmee where he tied for 17th out of 108 golfers with a five-over par 215 (May 22-24), up 52 spots from his position as a freshman… Had rounds of 72, 77, and 71 during the match play portion of the National Finals for a 215… One of three Moccasins who shot a 71 in the National Championship Match vs. Lynn, which was tied for the second-best score on the team that day… Defeated Mateo Gomez 71-72 in the Championship Match, a win that tied the team score 1-1 at that point… Also picked up an individual win in the quarterfinals vs. Ferris State… In addition to his 17th place finish at Nationals, tied for 38th out of 108 golfers at the South/Southeast Super Regional with a six-over par 222 (76-75-71)… Tied for 33rd at the Sunshine State Conference Championships with a 226 (69-77-80)… Opening-round 69 at the conference tournament was the Mocs’ best score of the day and second best for the team during the entire tournament.
AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16)… Played in 10 of the Moccasins’ 11 tournaments, the most among Florida Southern’s four freshmen… Missed only the Matlock Classic in February… Fourth on the team with a 75.25 stroke average in 32 rounds… Broke par in two rounds, including a five-under 67 in the first round of the McDonough Cup at Rio Pinar (Oct. 26) that was tied for the second-best single round score for any Moccasin golfer during the season… Had five other rounds at even par… Best tournament finish came at the Southeastern Collegiate where he finished tied for ninth place out of 93 golfers with an even-par 216 (71-73-72)… Had two other top-20 finishes during the season, tying for 19th place out of 93 golfers at the South/Southeast Preview (Feb. 29-March 1) and tying for 17th out of 45 golfers at the Sunshine State Conference Championships (April 17-19) played at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne… Had a final score of +15 (86-73-72=231) at the SSC Championships… Tied for 50th out of 108 golfers at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regionals with a +12 (74-79-75=228)… Finished the stroke play portion of the National Tournament tied for 69th of 108 golfers with a +7 (72-74-77=223)… Had rounds of 75 and 76 during match play at the National Finals, played at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2015 graduate of Trinity Catholic High School in Ocala where he was a four-year letterman in golf… Was a three-time Ocala Star-Banner High School Boys Golfer of the Year… Took home district medalist honors as both a freshman and sophomore… Finished as the district runner-up as a junior in 2013… Tied for 12th at the FHSA Class 1A State Championship as a senior in 2014, finished tied for 20th as a junior and as a sophomore.
PERSONAL: Son of Theresa and Eddie Anderson… Has a brother, Peyton and a sister, Marisa… His father, Eddie played football at Miami (Ohio) and is the former head football coach at Belleview High School… His mother, Theresa, ran track and cross country at Illinois State… Advanced to the Round of 16 at the FSGA's 25th Annual Amateur Match Play in 2015 … Also placed in the Top 15 at the AJGA ChampionsGate Invitational, the AJGA Coca-Cola Junior Invitational and was 10th in the 2014 Florida Boys Junior Open… Took home first place honors at 2015 Marion County Invitational and was second in the 2015 Marion County Masters… Lists playing ping-pong and swimming as his hobbies.
