LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College men's basketball head coach Mike Donnelly has named his captains for the upcoming 2019-20 season. This year, the Moccasins will be captained by three seniors in Josh Brown, Brett Hanson, Jack Rauch, and one junior, Jacob Schner, who redshirted as a freshman. The group, which was a part of Donnelly's first full recruiting class, have helped lead the Mocs to back-to-back 20-win seasons, two-straight NCAA Tournament berths, and the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Tournament title.
"I am very proud to officially announce our captains for the 2019-2020 season," Donnelly said. "These four young men are certainly deserving of this honor, as they were a part of our first full recruiting class at Florida Southern three years ago. It has been special watching our program grow and develop throughout the last few years, and I know our success would not have occurred without the hard work, dedication and most importantly, the toughness of our four captains. I have no doubt that they will be terrific leaders for our basketball program both on and off the court, and I know they are committed to finishing their careers at Florida Southern with winning championships."
Together, the four captains have combined to play in 251 games, scoring 2,411 points, and pulling down 1,227 rebounds. Since the group arrived on campus in 2016-17, the Moccasins have posted a record of 57-37 over the past three seasons and are 46-19 over the last two years. Hanson and Rauch are the Mocs' lone returning starters from last year, while Brown and Schner have provided depth off the bench.
