After a two-year playing career for the Moccasins, Conor Szczerba has now moved in the coaching ranks as he served on the baseball coaching staff for the 2015 season.

Szczerba completed his two-year playing career as the team's starting second baseman in the spring of 2014. As a senior in 2014, he hit .287 as he recorded 62 hits, scored 40 runs, hit six doubles, one home run and had 10 RBIs. In addition, he was 9-for-10 on stolen bases and drew 20 walks. As a junior in 2013, Szczerba hit .290 as he had 47 hits, scored 38 runs, hit six doubles, one triple, four home runs and drove home 31 runs. He was also 18-for-21 on stolen bases and drew 25 walks.

In his two-year career, Szczerba hit .288 as he recorded 109 base hits, scored 78 runs, hit 12 doubles, one triple, five home runs and had 41 RBIs. Additionally, he was 27-for-31 on stolen bases and was hit by 32 pitches.  

As a junior in 2013, he was named as the Rawlings/ABCA NCAA Division II Gold Glove winner at second base and was named to the Rawlings/ABCA South Region Gold Glove Team and was named to the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2014. 

Prior to attending FSC, Szczerba lettered for two years at Polk State College. In his time at Polk State, Szczerba was named the Suncoast Conference Player of the Year in 2012 and earned FCSAA/NJCAA Gulf District All-Tournament Team honors in 2012. He holds the school's single-season hit by pitch record as he was hit 22 times in 2012 and also holds the single season marks for runs scored (72 in 2012) and stolen bases (40 in 2012). Earned Second-Team All-Conference honors in 2011 and was named to the Suncoast Conference All-Star Team in 2011. He began his college career at Mercer, where he redshirted during the 2010 season.

A graduate of Titusville High School, Szczerba was a two-sport athlete as he lettered in both football and baseball. He earned All-State honors in both sports and as a senior in 2009, hit .480 in baseball and threw for 1,900 yards and had 18 touchdowns. He also scored 10 rushing touchdowns and earned All-Conference honors.

He received his bachelor's degree from FSC in 2014 in business administration.
