MELBOURNE, FL – Thanks to a season-high 11 strikeout, seven shutout inning performance, senior Logan Browning has been recognized with the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week honor. This is the second time this season and fourth time in his career the Lakeland native has been so honored. He was twice selected as a sophomore (and was also one-time Player of the Week) and named once last year as a junior.
Browning struck out 11 batters in seven scoreless innings of three-hit baseball on Friday, April 13 in the Moccasins' 15-2 win over Florida Tech. He allowed just four hits and walked two to limit the Panthers to a .174 batting average in the game. In the final two games of the FIT series, Browning played right field and was 4-for-8 with a double, triple, two runs scored, and three runs batted in. With hits in both games on Saturday, the senior extended his hitting streak to 14 games.
The Lakeland Christian School graduate is now 7-2 on the season with a 3.22 earned run average in 11 starts. Browning, who was recently named to the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list, has struck out 74 batters in 64.1 innings pitched so far this season.

Florida Southern is currently riding a 10-game win streak which has given the Moccasins a 32-4-1 overall record (the program's best record since the 1994 squad compiled a 34-3 record through 27 games). Browning and his teammates will take a 15-3 conference record on the road to West Palm Beach on April 20-22 to face Palm Beach Atlantic.
