Bob Gendron played just two seasons for the Moccasins, but established himself as one of the Moccasins’ all-time best pitchers. In the Moccasins’ 1981 national championship season, he was 10-3 with a 2.72 ERA and 11 complete games. He tossed a complete-game four-hitter against Cal State-Northridge to get the Moccasins to the title game and made the championship all-tournament team. The following year he was 13-2 with a 2.21 ERA and 10 complete games, as the Moccasins finished second and he again made the championship all-tournament team and also earned first-team All-America recognition. In 1987 he joined the Moccasin coaching staff as pitching coach and served in that capacity for 13 seasons, helping the Moccasins win two more national titles in 1988 and 1995. In 2002 he was named to the Sunshine State Conference Silver Anniversary Team. His total of 21 complete games remains the FSC career record.
