Brink Schoonmaker joined the Florida Southern College athletic department in 2011 to oversee all facility and grounds maintenance for the Moccasins. In his role he is responsible for keeping all athletic facilities in top-notch condition, and oversees all groundskeeping and maintenance duties at each of Florida Southern's six on-campus athletic facilities, as well as historic Henley Field, the home of Florida Southern baseball. He also regularly helps Florida Southern College's grounds and maintenance department in the set up of different campus events.
Schoonmaker has nearly three decades of experience in the groundskeeping and turf industry, including landscape design and construction. He has spent time working at both the USA Baseball National Training Complex in North Carolina and August National Golf Club in Georgia. In addition, Schoonmaker served as the groundskeeper for the Pittsburgh Pirates Spring Training facility in nearby Bradenton.
A 2010 graduate of Florida Southern College, Schoonmaker holds a bachelors degree in recreational turfgrass management. A native of Connecticut, Schoonmaker is an avid Boston Red Sox fan and has three adult children, Kate, Ryan, and Brad, and five grandchildren. Schoonmaker's son, Brad, works for the Red Sox as the Director of Development for the Red Sox Foundation.
