The top-ranked Moccasins enjoyed another big offensive night Wednesday, collecting 14 hits and beating No. 23 Ashland 10-3 at Henley Field.

The Moccasins scored their first-ever points at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships in Canton, Ohio, on the first night of finals Wednesday night.

The Moccasins head to Russellville, Ark., Thursday for the NCAA Division II South Regional.  They'll leave Lakeland at 5 a.m., fly out of Tampa Thursday at 7:45 on Southwest Airlines Flight 400, arrive in Little Rock, Ark., early Thursday afternoon and take a charter bus to Russellville, which is approximately 70 miles west on I-40.

CLERMONT – Brittaney Alderman’s pitching in game one was more than enough for an 8-0 Florida Southern win, but the hitting of Bethany Boomer, Christine Clark and Dani Blake gave her plenty of support anyway. In game two, it took a little bit more, but the Moccasins still came out on top when Heather Raulerson's tie-breaking seventh-inning single lifted them to a 5-4 win and a sweep of Millersville.

Trae Gore homered twice, doubled and drove in three runs to help power the top-ranked Moccasins to a 13-4 win over #29 Winona State Tuesday night at Henley Field.

LAKELAND - Three wins in doubles play got the Moccasins off to a strong start, and quick wins by Guenther Fercher and Christian Lange gave them two early wins in singles play as #13 Florida Southern defeated Bentley, 7-2, on Tuesday afternoon.

LAKELAND - After a one-week layoff, Florida Southern returned to the courts on Tuesday for an 8-1 win over Bentley that kept the 15th-ranked Moccasins undefeated on the season. Like most of their other wins in 2010, this one wasn't close.

WINTER SPRINGS – Final-round scores of 72 from Marianne Andersson, and 75 from Silvie Dittertova, helped 4th-ranked Florida Southern hold on to fourth place at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, while Nova Southeastern and Sandra Changkija each went on to win their second tournament of the spring.

The Lady Mocs are in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational hosted by Rollins at Winter Springs.

Both Moccasin cross country teams have been selected as All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Matt Stauch's impressive performance in the University of South Florida Ron Smith Invitational over the weekend earned him the Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Week Award.

The Moccasins' Max Russell has been named the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance against 15th-ranked Florida Tech Friday night.
