  • Women's Golf Team Finishes the Fall No. 13 in Golfstat Rankings

    The Florida Southern women’s golf team ended the first semester with a win at the Newberry College Invitational, and the strong finish allowed the Moccasins to finish the fall portion of their schedule No. 13 in the Golfstat team rankings. (There is no national coaches’ poll in Division II women’s golf.) Four Moccasin golfers are also listed in the individual rankings, led by sophomore Amanda Gartrell at No. 23.

    ELGIN, SC – With Tori Higgins shooting a final-round 74, and all four Moccasin counters at 77 or better, Florida Southern turned in a team score of 303 Tuesday to expand on its lead and win the 2017 Newberry College Invitational. It was the final fall tournament of the season for the Moccasins.

    SAINT LEO, FL – Amanda Gartrell had Florida Southern’s best round again with a one-over 73 to finish tied for fourth, while Kolby McWilliams had a final-round 74 to give the Moccasins their two best scores on the final day of the Saint Leo Women’s Golf Invitational.

  • Higgins Fires 71; Mocs Rally for Third at Battle of Old South

    BLUFFTON, SC - Tori Higgins shot a career-best 71 in today's final round for a 146 two-day total while Abbey Williams had a 73 to finish two strokes back as Florida Southern rallied to finish third at Battle at Old South played here at the Old South Golf Links. The Moccasins totaled a two-day 594 to finish 12 strokes behind Savannah Art & Design which shot 290 to win the event with a 582 team score.

    BLUFFTON, SC - Amanda Gartrell fired a two-over 74 to finish in a tie for 15th place after the first day's action here Sunday at the Old South Golf Links. The Moccasins are in seventh place with a 300 team score, eight strokes behind the overall leader, Savannah Art and Design which is four over at 292.

    MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Southern’s Tori Higgins has claimed the first Sunshine State Conference Women’s Golf Player-of-the-Week Award announced by the league office on Monday, September 18. The junior from Dover, Florida led the Moccasins to a second-place finish at last weekend’s Lady Falcon Invitational in Daytona Beach by finishing as the individual runner-up in the nine-team tournament. The weekly honor is the first for Higgins in her three seasons with the Moccasins.
  • Women's Golf Team Begins Season With Runner-Up Finish at Lady Falcon Invitational

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Florida Southern opened the 2017-18 season with a second-place finish at the Lady Falcon Invitational hosted by Daytona State. It was the Moccasins' best season-opening performance since they won the same tournament in 2011. The Mocs went on to finish that year as national runner-up.

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL - With junior Tori Higgins owning a share of the individual lead, sophomore Amanda Gartrell fourth, and freshmen Ashley Zagers and Shelby Lewis tied for sixth and ninth respectively, Florida Southern finished the first round of the Lady Falcon Invitational in second place with a team score of 305. That put the Moccasins just one shot behind host Daytona State with one round remaining.

    LAKELAND, FL (9/14/17) - We are pleased to share with you that as of this morning we now have power in almost all buildings across campus. What wonderful news! We are still waiting for power to come on in Colony Arms Apartments, Roberts Academy, and a few FSC houses surrounding the campus. We will continue to communicate updates as they become available and will accommodate any student who lives in one of these locations if power is still not restored when they return to campus.
