  • Women's Hoops Adds Khomenko for 2018-19

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's basketball head coach Betsy Harris has announced the signing of Kateryna Pazzaglia Khomenko to her squad for the upcoming 2018-19 campaign. A native of Italy, Khomenko will join the Moccasins after spending two seasons at Georgia Highlands College, where she helped lead the Chargers to 19 wins and an appearance in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Region 17 semifinals last year.
  • Fuchs-Robetin, Giardina Earn WBCA All-America Honors

    ATLANTA, GA - Florida Southern College women's basketball standouts Anja Fuchs-Robetin and Camille Giardina have been named as honorable mention all-Americans, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced this week. The duo was previously recognized the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) as first team all-South Region honorees and earned first team all-conference accolades from the Sunshine State Conference earlier this month.

With the honor, both players are now eligible to be selected as D2CCA all-Americans.

The Moccasins (25-5) made just one field goal in the first quarter as the Lady Blazers (22-8) used a stifling defensive effort to advance to the semifinals of the South Regional.

The Moccasins (25-4) are the No. 2 seed in the South Region after winning the Sunshine State Conference regular-season and tournament titles, while the Blazers (21-8) earned an at-large bid after finishing third in the Gulf South Conference during the regular season.

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Florida Southern College women's basketball ended its regular season with a 67-62 loss at Embry-Riddle. The Moccasins (22-4, 17-3 SSC) took a lead one-point lead into the fourth quarter, but the Eagles (21-6, 15-5 SSC) were able to open the final quarter with a 5-0 run to take the lead for the final time. Jensen Blassage (26), Camille Giardina (15) and Anja Fuchs-Robetin (13) all totaled double-digit points in the loss.

The Moccasins (21-3, 16-2 SSC) built a 17-point lead after one quarter of play, and the Fighting Knights (11-14, 7-11) never stood a chance as the Mocs ran away with things.

Fuchs-Robetin, who also earned the award on Nov. 27, Jan. 8, and Feb. 5, helped lead the Mocs to a pair of wins last week to extend the team's winning streak to 13-straight.

The Moccasins (20-3, 15-2 SSC) defeated the Panthers of Florida Tech (9-13, 6-10 SSC), 58-50, on Saturday night inside Jenkins Field House. The Mocs used a stifling defensive effort to overcome a sluggish offensive performance.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's basketball will host its annual Pink Game on Saturday, Feb. 10 when it hosts Sunshine State Conference rival Florida Tech at 5:30 p.m. at Jenkins Field House. The team will warm up in special pink t-shirts, and all fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in its mission to eradicate breast cancer.

    WINTER PARK, FL - Anja Fuchs-Robetin recorded her first career triple-double as Florida Southern College defeated Rollins, 78-69, at Warden Arena on Wednesday night. The triple-double was the fourth in women's basketball history and the first since Kelly Charron recorded two just 11 days apart during the 1994-95 season. The Moccasins (19-3, 14-2 SSC) took the lead four minutes into the game and never fell behind to snag the win over the Tars (11-11, 6-10 SSC).

The Moccasins (18-3, 13-2 SSC) built a 23-18 lead after one quarter and used a stifling defensive effort in the second quarter to pull away from the Buccaneers (15-7, 8-6) and take a two-game lead in the conference standings after second-place Embry-Riddle lost at Nova Southeastern on Saturday.

The Moccasins (17-3, 12-2 SSC) picked up their 10th-straight win and remained atop the Sunshine State Conference standings while the Tritons (15-6, 9-5) had their four-game win streak snapped.

The Moccasins (16-3, 10-2 SSC) made nearly half of their field-goal attempts and forced the Sailfish (4-15, 3-10) into 26 turnovers to pick up their ninth-straight victory.
