    GREENWOOD, IN - Florida Southern College women's basketball standouts Jensen Blassage and Anja Fuchs-Robetin were named as CoSIDA Academic all-District selections, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday. Both players were named as first-team selections for their performances on the court and in the classroom.

The Moccasins (22-3, 17-2 SSC) closed out their regular-season home slate with an easy win over the Spartans (17-9, 10-9) in Sunshine State Conference action a week ahead of the SSC Tournament quarterfinals.

    BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Southern College women's basketball raced out to an early lead and never trailed as it dominated Lynn, 76-59, on Wednesday night to win its 14th-straight game and clinch the Sunshine State Conference regular-season title. The Moccasins (21-3, 16-2 SSC) built a 17-point lead after one quarter of play, and the Fighting Knights (11-14, 7-11) never stood a chance as the Mocs ran away with things.

    MELBOURNE, FL - For the fourth time this season and the second-straight week, Florida Southern College women's basketball junior Anja Fuchs-Robetin has been named as the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Fuchs-Robetin, who also earned the award on Nov. 27, Jan. 8, and Feb. 5, helped lead the Mocs to a pair of wins last week to extend the team's winning streak to 13-straight.

    LAKELAND, FL - Camille Giardina and Jensen Blassage led Florida Southern College women's basketball with double-digit points as the Moccasins picked up their 13th-straight victory. The Moccasins (20-3, 15-2 SSC) defeated the Panthers of Florida Tech (9-13, 6-10 SSC), 58-50, on Saturday night inside Jenkins Field House. The Mocs used a stifling defensive effort to overcome a sluggish offensive performance.
  • Women's Hoops to Host Annual Pink Game

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's basketball will host its annual Pink Game on Saturday, Feb. 10 when it hosts Sunshine State Conference rival Florida Tech at 5:30 p.m. at Jenkins Field House. The team will warm up in special pink t-shirts, and all fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in its mission to eradicate breast cancer.
  • Fuchs-Robetin's Triple-Double Propels Mocs to 12th-Straight Victory

    WINTER PARK, FL - Anja Fuchs-Robetin recorded her first career triple-double as Florida Southern College defeated Rollins, 78-69, at Warden Arena on Wednesday night. The triple-double was the fourth in women's basketball history and the first since Kelly Charron recorded two just 11 days apart during the 1994-95 season. The Moccasins (19-3, 14-2 SSC) took the lead four minutes into the game and never fell behind to snag the win over the Tars (11-11, 6-10 SSC).

The Moccasins (18-3, 13-2 SSC) built a 23-18 lead after one quarter and used a stifling defensive effort in the second quarter to pull away from the Buccaneers (15-7, 8-6) and take a two-game lead in the conference standings after second-place Embry-Riddle lost at Nova Southeastern on Saturday.

    LAKELAND, FL - Anja Fuchs-Robetin came up with a huge block at the end of the first overtime and Florida Southern College women's basketball was able to outlast Eckerd, 85-78, in a double-overtime victory on Wednesday night at Jenkins Field House. The Moccasins (17-3, 12-2 SSC) picked up their 10th-straight win and remained atop the Sunshine State Conference standings while the Tritons (15-6, 9-5) had their four-game win streak snapped.

    WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Florida Southern College women's basketball scored 29 points off turnovers, and four players scored in double figures in an 86-45 rout of Sunshine State Conference rival Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday at Rubin Arena. The Moccasins (16-3, 10-2 SSC) made nearly half of their field-goal attempts and forced the Sailfish (4-15, 3-10) into 26 turnovers to pick up their ninth-straight victory.

Blassage averaged 20.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of victories last week. She led the Moccasins to a road win on Wednesday at Barry by tying a season-high with 22 points, and followed that up with 19 points as the Mocs crushed Rollins on Saturday.

The Moccasins (12-3, 7-2 SSC) made a season-high 48.4 percent of their field-goal attempts and outscored the Tars (10-6, 5-5) 49-27 in the first half to cruise to their fifth-straight win.

LAUDERDALE, FL - Camille Giardina and Anja Fuchs-Robetin combined for 37 points as Florida Southern picked up a 68-44 win on the road at Nova Southeastern, handing the Sharks their first Sunshine State Conference loss of the season. The win improves the Moccasins to 7-2 overall and moves the team into a four-way tie for first place in the league at 3-1. The Sharks drop to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the SSC.
