    LAKELAND, FL – Florida Southern College President Dr. Anne B. Kerr has announced the appointment of Drew Howard as the Moccasins’ new Director of Athletics & Dean of Wellness. The announcement was made on Monday during a press conference at Streamline Sale Arena at Jenkins Field House.
  • 71 Student-Athletes Named to SSC Fall Honor Roll

    MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern College placed 71 student-athletes on the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll, the conference office announced on Wednesday. In addition to its 71 Honor Roll selections, Florida Southern had 27 student-athletes earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average last semester.

    NEW ORLEANS, LA - Seven student-athletes from the Florida Southern cross country teams earned All-Academic awards as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2018 NCAA DII Cross Country Individual Academic Awards on Thursday. Joshua Wagner from the men's team and Addison Cantor, Hannah Flemming, Aleksa Guerra, Hannah Nelson, Jolene Vergauwen and Sarah Zamot from the women's team join the 649 student-athletes who earned USTFCCCA individual honors.

    PITTSBURGH, PA - On a cold and blustery day with a race time temperature of 42 degrees, Florida Southern finished in 30th place out of 34 teams over a muddy course here at the Bob O'Conner Golf Course at Schenley Park. The Moccasins finished with 814 points with Mitchell Kozik being the first FSC runner to cross the finish line placing 150th out of 261 runners.
  • Men's Cross Country To Compete at NCAA Nationals

    PITTSBURGH, PA - The Florida Southern men's cross country team will compete in the NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Bob O'Conner Golf Course at Schenley Park with the men's 10K race beginning at 11 a.m. The Moccasins earned the trip with a third-place finish at the NCAA South Regional meet held Nov. 17 at Lakeland's Holloway Park and Nature Preserve.

    NEW ORLEANS - Sophomores Mason Jones and Josh Wagner have been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II Cross Country All-Region Team. The duo earned a spot on the team by virture of their top-25 finishes at the recent NCAA South Region Championship.

    LAKELAND, FL - Sophomore Mason Jones turned in a time of 31:58.63 to finish in fifth place to lead Florida Southern to a third-place showing at the NCAA South Regional Championship held here Saturday morning at the Holloway Park and Nature Preserve. With the third-place finish, the Moccasins earn a trip to the NCAA National Championship on Dec. 1 in Pittsburgh, PA. This marks the 10th time FSC has placed in the top three at regionals and will mark the 10th trip to the national meet.

    LAKELAND, FL - The Moccasin men's cross country team will be running for its third regional crown in the last six seasons this Saturday as Florida Southern joins forces with Central Florida's Polk County Sports Marketing to host the NCAA Division II South Region Cross Country Championship here at the Holloway Park and Nature Preserve. This is the second consecutive year the event has been held in Lakeland.

    MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern's Mason Jones, Josh Wagner, and Dean McGregor have been selected to the All-Sunshine State Conference first-team while Mitchell Kozik was named to the All-SSC second-team as announced today by the league office. Runners that placed 1st to 7th in the SSC Championship were selected to the first-team while runners finishing in 8th to 14th place were named to the All-SSC second-team.

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Behind three top ten individual finishes, the Florida Southern men's cross country team finished second at the Sunshine State Conference Championship held here Saturday on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The Eagles had runners take the top three spots as Embry-Riddle won their first league title with 26 points, 22 more than the Moccasins (48 points) and 51 more than third place Saint Leo (77 points).

    HARDEEVILLE, SC - Mason Jones continued his strong sophomore campaign by finishing in third place, leading Florida Southern to a second-place showing at the USC Beaufort Sand Shark Invitational Cross Country meet here Saturday morning at the Sgt. Jasper Park. Jones led all Division II runners in the meet with a time of 25:14.3. The 34-team field featured 281 runners.

    CHARLOTTE, NC - Sophomore Mason Jones recorded the third fastest 8K time in Florida Southern history with a 24:36 to finish fifth overall and tops among Division II runners at the Queens City Invitational at McAlpine Creek Park. Behind Jones, the Moccasins finished fifth overall with 171 points. Liberty, A Division I institution, won the race with a near perfect 18 points, taking the top four spots. Fellow Sunshine State Conference member, Embry-Riddle, was second with 115 points, followed by Queens (ranked 17th nationally) with 119 points, and Washington and Lee (170 points).

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Mason Jones paced Florida Southern College men's cross country by posting a fifth-place finish, and the Moccasins put together another strong showing by taking second in the Embry-Riddle Asics Classic on Saturday morning. The Mocs also saw runners finish 12th (Dean McGregor) and 15th (Josh Wagner) as they tallied 68 total points to finish well ahead of third-place Flagler and in front of a number of Division I opponents.

    LAKELAND, FL – The Florida Southern men’s cross-country team, in its first event under new head coach Matt Levassiur, opened the 2018 season with a winning effort, as the Moccasins grabbed the top two spots individually and finished one point ahead of Saint Leo at the Holloway Park Preseason Festival. It was a resounding win for the Moccasins, who were No. 5 in the USTFCCCA South Region preseason rankings, while the Lions were No. 3.

    MELBOURNE, FL – New Florida Southern head coach Matt Levassiur has some added pressure in his inaugural season as the Moccasins have been picked to win the Sunshine State Conference by the league head coaches. The Moccasins received 59 total votes and three first-place votes in the SSC’s first-ever men’s cross country poll.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's and women's cross country head coaches Matt Levassiur (men) and Stephanie Bylander (women) have released their team's schedules for the upcoming 2018 campaign. Both the men's and women's squads will race at the ix events, four in September and two in October, while the Moccasins will once again host the NCAA South Region Championships.
