  • Florida Southern Finishes 18th in Final Learfield Cup Standings

    CLEVELAND, Ohio - Florida Southern College finished 18th in the final 2018-19 NCAA Division II Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings, it was announced this week. The Moccasins made a combined 11 NCAA postseason appearances this past year, including top-10 finishes in men's golf (third), women's basketball (ninth) and women's lacrosse (ninth).
  • Men's Tennis Drops Quarterfinal Match to Saint Leo

    BRADENTON, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis fell in the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Tournament Quarterfinal on Friday evening, falling 4-0 to Saint Leo at IMG Academy. The match between the No. 6 seed Moccasins (9-13, 3-5 SSC) and the No. 3 seed Lions (16-7, 5-3 SSC) was delayed by six hours after inclement weather suspended morning play. The Mocs were unable to avenge their loss to the Lions from earlier in the season in Lakeland.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College held its annual Athletic Academic Awards Banquet on Monday evening as it recognized its top student-athletes in an event held at Streamline Sale Arena at Jenkins Field House. More than 500 student-athletes, coaches, staff, and invited guests were in attendance.
  • Becker and Pham Help Upset Tars in Doubles, Mocs Fall to Rollins on Senior Day

    LAKELAND, FL - Brian Pham and Tim Becker earned the upset in doubles on Wednesday but could not prevent Rollins from winning 6-1 over Florida Southern College men's tennis on Senior Day at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The No. 35 Moccasins (9-12, 3-5 SSC) held strong in doubles but could not hold off a potent singles rotation from the No. 10 Tars (16-5, 5-3 SSC). Pham and Becker paired in the No. 1 doubles flight in their 7-6 upset over No. 9 Ziad Melhaoui and Andrea Brignacca, winning a 7-5 tiebreaker. 
  • Men's Tennis Earns 6-1 Victory Over Eckerd

    ST. PETERSBURG, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis won its second conference match of the season on Sunday afternoon, defeating Eckerd in a 6-1 contest. The No. 38 Moccasins (8-11, 2-4 SSC) won four singles flights in two sets, holding the Tritons (7-7, 0-6 SSC) to just four won sets out of the 19 played.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis fell on Saturday morning at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center, dropping a 7-0 contest to Barry. The No. 38 Moccasins (7-11, 1-4 SSC) dropped all singles matches to the No. 2 Buccaneers (13-1, 5-0 SSC), with the doubles pairing of Valentin Hertweck and Brandon Pham earning the only win for the Mocs in the No. 1 doubles flight by defeating Blake Bayldon and Filip Zupancic, 6-4.     LAKELAND, FL - Wednesday afternoon's match between Florida Southern College men's tennis and Azusa Pacific has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict. The No. 33 Moccasins will host No. 1 Barry at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
  • No. 33 Moccasins Drop Conference Match to No. 9 Fighting Knights

    BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis fell in conference play on Sunday afternoon, falling 7-0 to Lynn. The No 33 Moccasins (7-10, 1-3 SSC) were unable to earn a point against the hot No. 9 Fighting Knights (10-2, 5-1 SSC), drawing close in two 7-5 scorelines in the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles flights. Lennart Vossgäetter came the closest to winning a match for the Mocs, losing a 10-5 tiebreaker in the third set in the No. 2 singles flight.

  • Men's Tennis Cracks ITA Oracle Rankings

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis cracked the ITA Oracle rankings on Wednesday, earning the No. 30 ranking in the nation. The Moccasins received high marks for upsetting No. 14 Palm Beach Atlantic and benefitted from close losses to highly ranked opponents like No. 4 Saint Leo, No. 40 Embry-Riddle and No. 12 West Alabama in the computerized rankings.
  • Moccasins Upset Division I Highlanders

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis earned the upset on Wednesday afternoon, defeating New Jersey Institute of Technology in a close 4-3 match at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The No. 30 Moccasins' (7-9) win over the Highlanders (4-9) is the first over a Division I oppenent since defeating Bethune-Cookman on February 1, 2013 in an identical 4-3 scoreline. The Mocs are also now 4-2 this season in one-match decisions, most recently falling to Sonoma State on Sunday and defeating Ferris State at home on Friday before Wednesday's win.
  • Men's Tennis Finishes on Wrong Side of 4-3 Contest in Loss to Sonoma State

    LAKELAND, FL - For the fifth time this season Florida Southern College men's tennis found themselves in a 4-3 contest, falling to Sonoma State on Sunday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The Moccasins (6-9) were unable to overcome the Seawolves (7-2) despite strong performances from Brandon Pham, Brian Pham and Lennart Vossgäetter in singles competition. The Mocs are now 3-2 this season in one-match decisions, most recently defeating Ferris State at home on Friday before Sunday's loss.
  • Moccasins Win Close Contest Over Bulldogs

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis won in dramatic fashion on Friday afternoon, finishing on the right side of a 4-3 contest against Ferris State. The Moccasins (6-8) held strong in the No. 1, 5 and 6 singles flights to defeat the Bulldogs (2-8) and rebound from a dissappointing loss against North Georgia on Wednesday.
  • Moccasins Fall 5-2 to Nighthawks

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis fell 5-2 to North Georgia on Wednesday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The Moccasins (5-8) won two singles flights but were unable to withstand the Nighthawks (10-1) as a whole. The Nighthawks decisively won the doubles decision in the No. 1 and No. 3 flights by score of 6-1 and 6-0, respectively.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis saw just their second loss in seven games on Tuesday afternoon, falling 4-2 to Wayne State at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The Moccasins (5-7) were unable to overcome strong performances from the Warriors (9-3) in the No. 2, 3 and 4 singles flights.
  • Moccasins Cruise in 5-0 Victory Over Golden Rams

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis won its first of an upcoming four matches in five days on Monday afternoon, winning 5-0 over West Chester at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The Moccasins (5-6) and the Golden Rams (0-4) played only five singles flights before the match was clinched by the Moccasins in just over an hour of play.
  • Men's Tennis Overcomes Setbacks in 4-3 Win Over Timberwolves

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis overcame losing the doubles point and an injury in the No. 3 singles flight to win 4-3 over Northwood on Saturday night at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The Moccasins (4-6) won the No. 1, 2, 5 and 6 singles flights to overcome Miroslav Cvjetan withdrawing from the No. 3 singles flight and a great early start by the Timberwolves (2-3).
  • Mocs Drop Close 4-3 Conference Contest to Eagles

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL - A close contest on Thursday afternoon ended in favor of the home side as Florida Southern College men's tennis narrowly lost 4-3 to Embry-Riddle. The Moccasins (3-6, 1-2 SSC) won the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles flights but were not able to overcome losing the top three singles flights and doubles point to the Eagles (2-4, 1-1 SSC).
  • Mocs Win 6-1 Over Senators, Earn Third-Straight Victory

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis cruised to its third-straight win on Wednesday, defeating Davis & Elkins, 6-1. The Moccasins (3-5) dominated in doubles play against the Senators (2-4) and won five of the six singles flights in two sets or less to take the match.

  • Men's Tennis Wins Second Straight in 4-3 Victory Over Lakers

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis went ahead early and fought off a previously unbeaten Grand Valley State to win 4-3 on Saturday, recording its second-straight win. The Moccasins (2-5) won the doubles point but struggled in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles flights as the Lakers (4-1) tied the match at three, forcing a decision in the No. 5 singles match to give the Mocs the win.
  • Cvjetan Wins SSC Player of the Week Honor

    MELBOURNE, FL - The Sunshine State Conference announced on Monday that Florida Southern College men's tennis athlete Miroslav Cvjetan had won the Conference Player of the Week. The honor is the first in Cvjetan's career and the first for any Moccasin men's tennis player since March 21, 2016 when Arthur Viallaneiz received the honor.
  • Moccasins Upset No. 12 Sailfish in First Win of Season

    LAKELAND, FL - It was a statement first win of the season for Florida Southern College men's tennis on Saturday afternoon as they upset No. 12 Palm Beach Atlantic, 5-2. The Moccasins (1-5, 1-1) won the doubles point over the Sailfish (1-1, 0-1) while all of their four singles flights wins went to three sets.
  • Men's Tennis Drops SSC-Opener to No. 6 Saint Leo

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis suffered their first loss of conference play this season, falling 5-2 to Saint Leo on Wednesday. The Moccasins (0-5) battled in the doubles flights, losing 7-5 and 7-6 in the No. 2 and No. 3 matchups before the No. 6 Lions (3-2) clinched the match in the singles flights.
  • Shorthanded Moccasins Lose to Tigers

    PENSACOLA, FL - Florida Southern College men's tennis concluded the weekend trip to Pensacola on Sunday, losing 6-1 to West Alabama. The Moccasins (0-4), who played without the help of Tim Becker and Brandon Pham, struggled against the South's eighth-ranked Tigers (5-0) team in both the singles and doubles competitions.
