Alvarez-Hevia Named FSC Men's Tennis MVP

Senior Miguel Alvarez-Hevia has been named the Florida Southern men's tennis team's MVP by head coach Greg Van Emburgh.

Alvarez-Hevia tied for the team lead in victories, posting a 10-8 record that included a 9-6 mark at number two singles. He also posted a 1-2 mark at number one and combined with doubles partner Matt Matsuyama for an 8-9 tally in doubles. The duo was 8-8 at number one singles and 0-1 at number two.

The Asturias, Spain native came to Florida Southern in 2015-16 after freshman year the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. As a Moccasin, Alvarez-Hevia had a 36-23 overall record in singles for his three-year career.

Alvarez-Hevia was also named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
