    CLEVELAND, OH - Florida Southern College had 105 student-athletes named as D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award recipients, the D2 Athletic Directors Association announced on Thursday.

  • Florida Southern Places 169 Student-Athletes on SSC Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll

    MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern College place 169 student-athletes on the SSC Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll, the Sunshine State Conference office announced on Tuesday morning, placing the Moccasins second among all 11 SSC member institutions. In addition, the Mocs had a conference-best 60 student-athletes finish with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the spring semester, nearly twice as many as second-place Florida Tech (36).

  • Seven Men's Lacrosse Student-Athletes Earn All-SSC Honors

    MELBOURNE, FL - Seven Florida Southern College men's lacrosse student-athletes have earned All-Sunshine State Conference honors, announced by the conference office Thursday afternoon. Florida Southern landed four on the second team as Lucas Claude earned his second all-SSC honors, Dalton Simpson, Kevin Dyer and Kevin Horwitz earned their first all-SSC honors. Florida Southern collected two of the four honorable mention spots with Austen Lison at LSM and Alex Dagen on defense. In addition to his second team honors, Horwitz was named to the all-SSC Freshman team along with teammate Max Burgio.
  • Florida Southern Closes out 2018 with Road Victory at Embry-Riddle

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse closed out its season on a high note with a 15-3 victory at Embry-Riddle on Saturday evening. The Moccasins (8-7, 3-4 SSC) scored the eventual game-winner with just under two minutes remaining in the first quarter to defeat the Eagles (1-12, 0-7). Freshman goalie Matt Stocks made six saves on nine shots faced. 
  • Florida Southern Comeback Thwarted by Panthers' Late Goal

    LAKELAND, FL - On the day Florida Southern College men's lacrosse honored its eight seniors, the Moccasins were unable to answer a late goal from Florida Tech as they fell 15-14 at Moccasin Field. The Mocs (7-7, 2-4 SSC) quickly erased a 2-0 lead by the Panthers (9-4, 6-0) to take a 7-5 lead after one quarter, but FIT outscored the Florida Southern 6-1 in the second quarter to regain the momentum, and scored in the final 10 seconds of regulation to come away with the win.
  • Men's Lacrosse Unable to Hold Off Saint Leo

    LAKELAND, FL - Matt Stocks made 14 saves in his first collegiate start and Florida Southern College men's lacrosse raced out to a 4-0 lead but was unable to hang on in a 12-10 loss to No. 6 Saint Leo in Sunshine State Conference action on Wednesday at Moccasin Field. The Moccasins (7-6, 2-3 SSC) looked like they might come away with a massive upset, but the Lions (10-1, 4-0) roared back with eight second-half goals to erase a 7-4 halftime deficit en route to their sixth win in a row.
  • Florida Southern Drops Saturday Home Contest to Rollins

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse erased an early one-goal lead by Rollins and held a 5-4 lead early in the second quarter, but was outscored 6-1 over the final eight and a half minutes of the first half in a 16-11 loss on Saturday at Moccasin Field. The Moccasins (7-5, 2-2 SSC) would rally back from a four-goal deficit in the second half to pull within one score on two occasions, but the Tars (5-5, 2-2) score five of the final six goals of the game to send the Mocs to their second-straight loss in Sunshine State Conference play.

  • Moccasins Fall to Tampa on the Road

    TAMPA, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse jumped out to a quick one-goal lead but ultimately fell at No. 9 Tampa in Sunshine State Conference action late Wednesday night. The Moccasins (7-4, 2-1 SSC) used a four-goal third quarter to cut the Spartan (10-3, 2-1) lead to just five goals but were unable to complete the comeback.

    LAKE ROAD PERRY, NY - For the first time this season Florida Southern men's lacrosse is ranked in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Top 20 poll. The Moccasins enter the poll at No. 20 following a victory over Alabama-Huntsville (16-9), and then No. 20 Lynn (14-12) last week.

    BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse ended March with its second Sunshine State Conference victory of the season as it took down the Lynn University Fighting Knights, 14-12, on Saturday night. The Moccasins (7-3, 2-0 SSC) rallied back from an early 3-0 deficit to take down the Knights (7-3, 0-2), and Lucas Claude had another big game as he scored five goals to help the Moccasins extend their winning streak to four games.

    BOCA RATON, FL - Former Florida Southern College men's lacrosse goalkeeper Matt Lalli has been named to the 2018 training camp roster for the Florida Launch of Major League Lacrosse. Lalli, who finished his four-year career as the Moccasins' all-time leader in saves, wins, and starts by a netminder, is one of 40 players who will open training camp with the Launch.

The Moccasins (6-3) used eight first-quarter goals, including five from Lucas Claude, to power past the Chargers (6-5) and extend their winning streak to three games.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse got out to an early 3-0 lead in the first three minutes of play as it defeated Palm Beach Atlantic, 12-7, on Saturday afternoon at Moccasin Field. The Moccasins (5-3, 1-0 SSC) and the Sailfish (4-7, 1-1) took to the field together for the first time ever as PBA is in its first season of men's lacrosse.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse rallied back from an early deficit to stun No. 4 Colorado Mesa, 12-9, at Moccasin Field on Saturday afternoon. The Moccasins (4-3) saw the Mavericks (7-2) pull out to an 2-0 lead in the opening 34 seconds of the game, but Kevin Dyer scored three goals in a five-minute span to spark a 4-0 run and give the Mocs a 5-3 lead in the second quarter.   • Men's Lacrosse Makes Schedule Change

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse has made a change to its schedule start time against Colorado Mesa on Saturday, March 17. The teams will now play at 11:30 a.m. instead of the previously scheduled 1 p.m. start time. Live stats and live video will still be available by accessing the FSC Gameday Central page.

    SYRACUSE, NY - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse was unable to overcome an early offensive onslaught from No. 2 Le Moyne in an 11-6 loss on Sunday afternoon at Ted Grant Field. The Moccasins (3-3) fell behind the Dolphins (4-0) by three goals after the first quarter and were never able to recover. Le Moyne outshot Florida Southern 29-16 in the first half en route to a 6-4 halftime lead.

    ALBANY, NY - Joe Appio's goal with just over a minute to go capped off a late rally as Florida Southern College men's lacrosse overcame a late two-goal deficit in a 10-9 win over the College of Saint Rose on Friday afternoon. The Moccasins (3-2) led by four goals at the half, but the Golden Knights (1-3) scored five-straight to open the third quarter and led by two (9-7) with just over seven minutes to go.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse got out to an early lead but was unable to stave off a strong effort by visiting Wingate in a 9-5 loss on Tuesday afternoon at Moccasin Field. The Moccasins (2-2) got on the board first and led by a goal toward the beginning of the second quarter, but the Bulldogs (2-3) scored four unanswered goals to close out the first half en route to the win.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse will open the 2018 season with a pair of road games this weekend as the Moccasins travel to the Tar Heel State with matchups at Belmont Abbey (Feb. 23) and Catawba (Feb. 25). The Mocs will face Belmont Abbey at 3 p.m. tomorrow, and take on Catawba at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
