  • Florida Southern Athletics Continues Tradition of Strong Academics

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College has long been known for is excellence in the arenas of athletic competition, but Moccasin student-athletes are also shining in the classroom as well as Florida Southern boasts three NCAA Division II Elite 90 award recipients this year. The Elite 90 program honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average at each of the NCAA's 90 championship events, and the Mocs have claimed three Elite 90 awards this
  • Florida Southern Captures 2017-18 SSC Men’s and Women’s Mayors’ Cups

    MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Southern College has won the 2017-18 men’s and women’s Sunshine State Conference Mayors’ Cups. The wins mark the 10th time an institution has won both Mayors’ Cups in the same academic year.
  • Whitfield, Shoaff Make FSC Equestrian History

    SAVANNAH, GA - Florida Southern made history last week as Shona Whitfield and Emily Shoaff became the first Moccasin equestrian team members to compete at the IHSA Zone 5 Championships. Whitfield placed fifth in the advanced walk, trot, canter while Shoaff finished 10th in the novice over fences.
  • Whitfield Named Reserve High Point Rider at UF Show

    GAINESVILLE - Junior Shona Whitfield was named the reserve high point rider at the University of Florida IHSA Hunter Seat Show on Saturday, becoming the first-ever Florida Southern equestrian team member to be so honored. The Moccasin team placed sixth out of 15 teams in the show.

    HARDEEVILLE, SC - Shelby Cain took home first-place honors in the Beginner Walk, Trot during the first day's competition at the Savannah College Art & Design Equestrian Event held here over the weekend at the Ronald Waranch Equestrian Center.

  • Shoaff, Morgan Post First-Place Finishes at SCAD Event

    SAVANNAH, GA - Emily Shoaff and Sophie Morgan took honors first-place honors to help the Florida Southern equestrian team to a ninth-place finish out of 16 teams at the two-day Savannah Art & Design Hunter Seat Event. The Moccasins placed 14 riders in 18 events on Saturday and 13 in 18 events on Sunday and closed out the Fall portion of their schedule.
  • Tynan Wins Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter at UNF Equestrian Event

    JACKSONVILLE, FL - Paige Tynan took first place in the Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter Saturday at the University of North Florida Equestrian Event with Shona Whitfield finishing right behind in second place. In the Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter, Emily McPartlin came in fourth place while Shelby Cain placed fourth in the Beginner Walk/Trot.

    LAKELAND, FL (9/14/17) - We are pleased to share with you that as of this morning we now have power in almost all buildings across campus. What wonderful news! We are still waiting for power to come on in Colony Arms Apartments, Roberts Academy, and a few FSC houses surrounding the campus. We will continue to communicate updates as they become available and will accommodate any student who lives in one of these locations if power is still not restored when they return to campus.
