Beach Volleyball Extends Home Win Streak to Seven

LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball earned a 3-2 win over Saint Leo on senior day. The Mocs (11-11) picked up early wins on the number two and four courts to open the match 2-0 over the Lions (8-10). 

Florida Southern's Kayla Trefren and Kylee Whiteleather picked up the pairs seventh win, the fourth time this season they have won in straight sets. On the number four court, the Mocs duo of Haley Goodrich and Celia Greco had identical first and second set scores of 21-17 winning the first and dropping the second. The duo bounced back after a second set loss and put the Mocs up 2-0 in the match with a 16-14 victory in the final and point-deciding set. The Lions were able to tie the match at 2-2 picking up a pair of two-set victories on the number one and five courts. Florida Southern clinched the match with a two-set victory as Kennedy Matthews and Lee Calhoun defeated the Lions number three pair 21-6 in the final set of the match. 

The Mocs honored their four seniors prior to the match. Those seniors were Calhoun, Morgan Cleary, Emily Jones, and Makena Wilson.  

Florida Southern will close out the regular season hosting Florida International (April 10) before heading to Tavaras for the AVCA Small College Championships. Seedings for the championships will be announced early next week.
