Playing as a graduate student after taking a medical redshirt in 2009… Serving as a Florida Southern co-captain for the fourth year in a row (first year with Luke Jenner)… First player in team history to be a captain four years in a row after being the fourth to hold that title three straight years.

As a senior (2011)… NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award Winner… First Team All-Sunshine State Conference… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… First Team Academic All-District… First defender in team history to earn First Team All-SSC honors in back-to-back seasons… Has a chance to join forwards Frank Bresk (1990, ’91, and ’93) and Mike Nance (1999-01) as the Mocs’ only 3-time All-SSC selections… Started all but two games at center back and finished as Florida Southern’s second leading scorer with six goals and 13 points… Goals and points were the most for a Moccasin defender since Robbie Sanger had six and 15 in 2000, and the most for any defender in the SSC in 2011… Had two multi-goal games, scoring twice in 6-2 win over St. Thomas (Sept. 9) and in 3-2 win at Eckerd (Sept. 17)… Converted penalty kicks in consecutive games at Eckerd and at Palm Beach Atlantic… Keyed the Mocs’ defense in an upset of nationally ranked Rollins for the second year in a row (4-1 win on Oct. 27)… Helped the Mocs limit five opponents to 10 shots or less… Of the 13 games he played, went the distance in 12 of them.

As a junior (2010)… NSCAA Second Team All-South Region… First Team All-Sunshine State Conference… 2-time SSC Defensive Player-of-the-Week (Sept. 6 and Oct. 11)… Team MVP… Division II Academic Achievement Award… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… First Moccasin in five years to make the All-South Region Team, and the first Moccasin defender since Clay Roberts in 2003… First Moccasin defender since Bruce Manuel in 1999 to earn First Team All-SSC honors… Only the second player in team history to be named a conference player-of-the-week twice in one season (goalkeeper Cliff Dixon did it in 1997)… One of five Moccasins to start all 15 games, with all of them at center back… Returned after missing all of 2009, and helped the Moccasins lower their goals against average by more than two goals per game (3.39 to 1.36), their shots per game by more than five (16.0 to 10.8), and record three shutouts, their most since 2005… Was selected SSC Defensive Player-of-the-Week after his first two games back, leading the Mocs to 2-0 and 6-1 wins on the road, and helping limit Mount Olive and St. Andrews to a total of 14 shots… Won his second POW Award after a 1-0 win at #22 Barry where the Bucs were held to 10 shots (only three on goal)… Recorded two of Florida Southern’s four “team saves”, one of them against Barry, and the other in a 2-1 victory at #15 Lynn (Oct. 16)… Scored the first goal of the match in a 2-2 tie at West Florida (Sept. 12), and the first goal against Lynn in the Mocs’ first ever win over the Knights… Averaged 87 minutes per match, playing every minute of 12 games.

As a sophomore (2009)… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Sat out the season due to injury… 2009 co-captain along with Givi Kokaia.

As a freshman (2008)… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Started 11 of the Mocs’ first 12 games before being lost due to injury… Anchored the Florida Southern defense, with the team goals against average going up by nearly two goals per game after his loss… Helped the Mocs hold their opponents to less than 10 shots in five of his 10 full games… Scored his only goal in 5-3 loss to Eckerd (Oct. 11)… Averaged 84 minutes per match.

In high school… 2006 graduate of Nottingham High School in Nottingham, England… Played for the West Bromwich Albion FC youth team from 2006-08 (coach Michael Appleton), one of the oldest football clubs in England… Played for Notts County FC and coach Trevor Powell from U-10 through U-16… Played for a U-11 team as an eight-year old… Also played rugby and cricket in high school.

Extra… Born 1/22/90… Son of Graham and Sabina Holmes… Has one older sister (Danielle)… Had two former teammates from England also go on to play in the Sunshine State Conference (Sam Craven at Lynn and Will Thacker at Eckerd), though both have now graduated… Dean’s List student… Graduated in the spring of 2012 with a degree in Business Administration.
