Blake Rawlins

Blake Rawlins, a current coach of one of the top volleyball clubs in Florida, Top Select Volleyball Academy out of Orlando, has joined the Florida Southern volleyball staff as an assistant coach for the 2012 season.

Rawlins will be working with the team’s blockers and helping with the offense at FSC.

In his duties at Top Select Volleyball Academy, Rawlins served as recruiting coordinator and lead trainer for the 15-18 age groups, as well as the head coach for the 18’s team. The 18’s team qualified for the 2012 USAV National Tournament.

Prior to joining Top Select, Rawlins was an assistant coach for the Embry Riddle volleyball program for five years (2005-09). During his time with the Eagles, Embry Riddle compiled a record of 109-56 with two Sun conference Championships. His primary duties at ERU were developing the skills of outside hitters and setters, running the team’s offense, obtaining scouting reports on opponents and as the recruiting coordinator for the program.

In 2008, Rawlins helped develop Atlantic Coast Juniors Volleyball Club where he was the co-director and head coach of the national teams. At ACJ, Blake’s teams finished in the top ten in the USAV Florida Region Rankings from 2009-11. Along with a top ten finish in the rankings, his 18’s team finished third at the Big South and the Lone Star National Qualifiers in 2011. Selected as a first assistant for the USA’s High Performance Florida Region Team in 2007, Rawlins helped coach the team to finish eighth in the country for the select age group. In 2009, again selected as a first assistant, Rawlins helped lead the USA’s High Performance Region Youth Team toa fourth place finish in the International Division.

Rawlins currently holds a Level 1 Cap certification from USA Volleyball and has been playing and coaching volleyball for the last 20 years.
