Ben Greenberg, former sports information director at Arkansas Tech University, has been named as assistant athletic director for athletic communication for Florida Southern College.

Greenberg replaces Bill Turnage who retired from Florida Southern College in June after serving for 10 years as the College’s director of sports information. Greenberg began his duties at Florida Southern on Aug. 6.

“We look forward to having Ben join our team at Florida Southern,” said Athletic Director Pete Meyer in making the announcement. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our program and is the person to carry on the fine tradition of excellence exhibited by Bill Turnage the last ten years.”

“My wife and I are extremely excited to join the Florida Southern family and the Lakeland community,” said Greenberg. “I am proud to be a part of one of the top Division II athletic programs in the country and I look forward to working with all the Moccasin coaches and student-athletes.”

At Arkansas Tech, where he served for seven years, Greenberg was responsible for all facets of media relations and sports information for the 10-sport NCAA Division II athletic program. He also served as webmaster for the ATU website and served as co-host of a weekly radio show devoted to Arkansas Tech athletics.

Greenberg, who is an Omaha, Neb., native, is a 1995 journalism and mass communication graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The 40-year old is married to the former Tanya Falk of Mundelein, Ill.
