John Mack has been affiliated with Florida Southern in a number of different capacities since he began playing baseball for the Moccasins in 1956.  He served as an assistant basketball coach in 1964 under the late Tom Greene.  He was instrumental in the establishment of two of the primary fund raising operations for Moccasin athletics - helping to start the Pop Sikes Golf Tournament for men’s golf in 1976 and helping initiate the Sixth Man Club for men’s basketball in 1978.  He was the recipient of Florida Southern’s Alumni Distinguished Service Award in 1988.  A successful businessman in the insurance business and financial planning field, Mack is now retired.
