Voted the Sunshine State Conference's all-time top men's basketball player of the first 25 seasons, John Ebeling led the Moccasins to three straight NCAA Division II Final Fours including an NCAA National Championship in 1981. The Mocs' all-time leading scorer with 2,514 points and all-time rebounder with 1,362, Ebeling holds 15 school records. The 1982 NCAA Division II Player of the Year, Ebeling was a three-time All-American. Playing from 1979 to 1982, Ebeling played in 127 games. His jersey, number 31, is retired. After several successful years playing in Europe, Ebeling returned to finish his degree from FSC in 1989. In 2006, he was named to the 50th Anniversary Team of the NCAA Division II Basketball Championships.
