Peter Creighton has been named to the 2011-12 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars for the NCAA Division II as announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of American. Creighton was one of 52 Division II golfers to earn the honor.
Creighton played in all ten tournaments for the Moccasins this season, posting a 74.9 stroke average over 30 rounds. He was the Moccasins' top finisher at the Rollins College Invitational, firing a three-round score of 220 to finish tied for 14th place. For his career, the senior Kenmore, N.Y. native, had a 76.22 stroke average playing in 19 tournaments for Florida Southern.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 78.0 in Division II and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
