Flanagan Named to Summer League All-Star Team

Florida Southern first baseman Jerrod Flanagan was selected to the All-Myrtle Beach Collegiate Summer Baseball League Team after helping the Riptides win the league's inaugural championship. Flanagan, who was a freshman for the Moccasins in 2012, was a unanimous selection to the all-star team as voted on by coaches and league administrators.
Flanagan hit .356 (21-for-59) with five doubles, five home runs and 21 RBI for the Riptides. He also walked 18 times for a .525 on-base percentage, and had a .695 slugging percentage. He helped the Riptides finish 18-9 and defeat the Ghost Crabs 4-0 in the league championship game.
Flanagan joined the Moccasins last year from Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, and in his first year at Florida Southern was a member of the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
