Mocs Tied for Second After Day One, Nova Leads By 19
Tim Crouch had the Mocs' top score at 147After shooting an opening-round 297 at the Florida Blue Sunshine State Conference Tournament Monday, the Moccasins had a one-stroke lead over Nova Southeastern. The second round was a different story, however. The Moccasins shot a 301, but the Sharks came in with a 281. As a result, the Sharks will take a 19-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round at The Concession at Bradenton.
Nova Southeastern finished the day at 579 with all five of its golfers in the top 13 individuals. The Moccasins are tied for second with Florida Tech (299-299) at 598. Behind the top three are Eckerd fourth (604), Lynn fifth (605), Barry sixth (607), Rollins seventh (614), Saint Leo eighth (626) and Tampa ninth (631).
The Sharks' Oscar Lengden is the individual leader at two under par 142 after rounds of 74-68. Teammate Mitch Farrer is tied for second at 143 (73-70), while Ricardo Celia and Ben Vertz are tied for eighth at 148.
For the Moccasins, Tim Crouch had their best score, as he came in at 147 (76-71) that put him in a tie for sixth. Case Gard and Lee White are tied for 11th after each shot a 149. Gard had rounds of 71-78 and White had rounds of 73-76.
Shane Convery is tied for 19th at 154 (78-76). Peter Creighton is tied for 40th at 161 (77-84).
