Mocs Eighth After Two Rounds Of Mardi Gras Invitational
Case Gard is the Moccasins leader in a tie for seventhAfter two rounds of the University of New Orleans' Mardi Gras Invitational, the Moccasins are in eighth place in the 15-team field.
A 301 team score in the first round had FSC tied for sixth, but the Moccasins' 304 second round dropped them two places in the team standings with a two-round score of 605. Top-ranked Lynn will take a one-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round at TPC Louisiana. The Fighting Knights finished the day at 586, one stroke better than North Alabama.
Case Gard, with rounds of 74-73, leads the Moccasins with a 147 that has him tied for seventh. Carlos Rodriguez of West Florida is the individual leader at 140.
Behind Gard, Peter Creighton is tied for 12th at 148. After opening with a 76, he finished with an even-par 72 for the Moccasins' best round of the day. Lee White had the Moccasins' best first-round score with a 73, but shot an 80 in the second round and is tied for 35th at 153.
Shane Convery shot 78-79 and is tied for 49th at 157. Tim Crouch had rounds of 79-80 and is tied for 58th at 159.
The final round of the tournament will be played Tuesday.
