Doran Posts Second Event Win As Mocs Finish Third At SSC Meet
Stephanie Doran won the 200-yard backstroke for her second event win of the meetStephanie Doran earned her second event win to highlight the Moccasins' final day of competition at the Sunshine State Conference Championship in Clearwater Saturday.
After winning the 100-yard backstroke Friday, Doran claimed the 200-yard backstroke Saturday in 2:00.98. Teammate Taylor Reynolds was third in 2:04.58.
In addition to Doran's win, the Moccasins also received a win from Lisa Menne in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.19. Menne also swam leadoff for the 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished second in 3:27.13. She was followed by Reynolds, Kelly Ruf and Rae-Lynn Sheffield.
Sheffield had a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:21.06.
For the meet, FSC won five events, two in meet-record times, and set three school records.
Nova Southeastern won the meet with 932 points. Tampa was second with 921 and the Moccasins were third with 683.
The Moccasins' next competition will be the NCAA Division II Championship Mar. 14-17 at Mansfield, Texas.
