Mocs Finish Seventh At Rollins Invitational
Peter Creighton had a 73 for FSC's top final roundA final round score of 301 dropped the Moccasins from fifth to seventh at the Rollins Invitational at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando Tuesday. FSC finished with an 893.
Newberry broke away from first-day co-leader Carson-Newman with a 10-stroke advantage in the final round, 284-294, and won the tournament with a team score of 867.
Peter Creighton had the Moccasins' best round of the day with a 73, which gave him a final score of 220 to tie for 16th. Lee White tied for 21st with a 223. Jake Nutter tied for 24th at 224. Tim Crouch and Alex Carpenter tied for 40th at 229.
Rollins' Spencer Cole maintained his first-day lead and won the tournament with a 211, two strokes better than Newberry's Matthew Campbell and Chandler Gruenmeier.
Playing as an individual, Case Gard had the Moccasins' best final score at 218 that put him in a tie for eighth. Shane Convery also played as an individual and tied for 60th with a 235.
With this tournament, the Moccasins concluded their fall schedule.
